Connect The Dots Vintage Blue

After reading all the threads and searching and asking questions, and returning a Poetic case to Amazon, I bought this through B&H. It arrived yesterday, and... it is perfect. Completely perfect!

The color is amazing... it is a deep slate grey blue. The faux leather is soft and matte, and really does feel like leather. There was no smell at all.

The magnets are strong. Super strong! I really have to pull it open. The cover when folded back in book mode easily stays back because of the magnets without holding it, yet they do not cause the wake/sleep to happen when folded back. When the cover is closed there is very little give, I have to work to move it around enough to get the sleep/wake to happen. When I hold it so that the cover is facing down it stays attached, whether it is closed or folded back.

It folds back almost completely flat, moreso than in huzaifa93's photos.

Reading through this whole thread again before posting this, it seems that perhaps The Joy Factory may have some QC issues that there can be such discrepancies. I'm so glad that I was lucky, and received a perfect case! :)

My case got a tear in the back, although I'm not quite sure how it happened. I sent an email to joy factory and they may get me a replacement. I sure hope they do! Maybe the replacement will be better.

Oh no! :( Just the "leather" or a break through into the back, as well?

Mine tore as well and I took it back. You can find my post 1 page back and see where I reported this. I loved the case but after less than 30 days of use I has a small tear where the smart cover joins the back casing. It was not bad but I could see it getting worse over time. I'm back to using an Apple OEM and a Feather now.

It's a tear in the leather. I'll send a picture, it's not too bad though. I'm getting a replacement and it appears as if I'm getting to keep my current one as well! :) So all is good

A tear, even a small one, so soon after buying would concern me, too. I'll pay attention to mine - thank you! :)

Do you think it was a manufacturing defect, or it got caught on something and the material is a bit more fragile than it seems? That's great they are replacing it!

I'm wondering how much I should baby this one.

I think it may have caught on something. Might have been my little brother not being careful. I don't think you'll need to baby it :)

The first picture shows the tear "open", the second is "closed". The third picture just shows how small it is relative to the entire back of the case.

I got my replacement, although it's the wrong one. They sent me a smartsuit3 for some reason. I'll have to email them about it.

The tear isn't as bad as I imagined, though it would bother me, too. You could patch it until you get the replacement case, so it doesn't tear more.

Of course they need to send the correct case, but I wonder how they compare. Are they the same, other than the lines of dots?

Oh no, they're not the same at all. The smartsuit feels quite rough and the material is quite hard as opposed to the soft "leather". When folding back into a triangle, it's really quite stiff due to the different material used. Maybe it'd just need to break in a little. It's still a nice case though. It's More durable than the connect the dots, although it doesn't look and feel as nice.

About the tear, it is actually quite minor, and it doesn't look like it's gonna get worse.

I have the Connect-the-Dots Vintage Khaki for a few weeks now.
I totally love the case, the colour is perfect and the I think the quality is very good.

But the connection between the front and the cover cover seems weak...
Did anyone's case tear on the back?

Another question, could anyone post a picture of the Connect-the-Dots Vintage Blue?

The connection between the front and back of my case seems perfectly fine. My case did tear, which I have shown pictures of in this thread, but I got a replacement. I got to keep the torn one as well which is a bonus.
