Just like the ProMax the iPhonebook will start at 256GB.

Compare
512GB iPhoneBook for $2200

to
512GB iPhone Pro + 512GB cellular iPadMini + 3 years of a data plan for the iPad

It's hard to say which slab phone will be its closest analog price-wise because it will probably have the iPhone Air's cameras, but it will have the Pro Phone RAM and at least the ProMax's battery.

But yeah, if you keep one or both of your device base then the iPhonebook will be more expensive.
1. It won't have Face ID.
2. It won't have multiple cameras.
3. It will have a short and fat aspect ratio.

In no way will it be a Pro iPhone. It does not compare. It will be a worse iPhone than a Pro or Pro Max. You're supposed to be OK with that, for the privilege of unfolding it into the worst iPad.

agree...in general iphone pro starts from 999 and ipad pro from 999 so in total around 2k anyway...its just the convenience that you can carry around you a mini tablet thats all...but if the tablet has different OS and store like macOS then, i will change my mind
Right but you're not carrying a around a Pro iPhone and a Pro iPad. You're carrying around severely compromised versions of both, for no other reason than to carry both.

All your personal opinion to which you are entitled to.
Well have to wait 13.5 months or so til release and know what this will have and can do, until then...

Apple has been slipping on many of their scheduled projects. I'll be surprised if they meet the September 2026 timeline.
Supply chains worldwide have been disrupted by all of the on again off again tariff verbiage spewed out of Washington DC, so some product delays are certainly likely.

Why do I want my phone to fold?
You don't. You're supposed to want your phone to unfold into an iPad. But the truth is that the only way to get there today is with a worse iPhone and a worse iPad than you already have. For more money than you paid for the better ones.

A better example would be the ability to carry around an iPhone Pro and an iPad Mini in one device.

This is not opinion. This is based entirely on the reliable leaks that we have seen. If you want to pretend that those are not accurate, go ahead.

Thanks for the laugh... there is no such thing as "reliable" leaks, but whatever works for you.

If it’s good enough to replace my iPad it’s a huge win for me. One less device!

I have the M4 iPad Pro, but only for the display really. I mainly use it for media consumption and my very light travel computer (I have a MacBook Pro M1 14” too).

yea

Yeah that...could not possibly be more false.

I guess Apple isn't releasing a 5.5 mm iPhone 17 Air with 1 camera and the same chip as the iPhone 17 Pro, or an iPhone 17 Pro with a redesigned MagSafe and camera module next month. Total fantasy.

Not true [hypothetically because we have not seen one], but someone who uses a small tablet like an iPad mini for image review and markup, reading or whatever might find that a ffablet means that a single device in one's pants pocket works well, actually replacing two devices.

The ffablet as currently envisioned looks like it would reasonably do the task of an iPad mini,, not "severely compromised." It seems that such a ffablet could also do the task of an iPhone, again not "severely compromised." The only obvious compromises that jump out at me are the possible size/weight issues and the likelihood of a reduction in camera competence below that of the iPhone pros. But many, many folks already accept camera competence below that of the iPhone pros in their purchasing.

There's a big difference in "leaking" when it comes to products that are a few months vs a year plus out, but as I said, whatever works for you

Apple has gone downhill the last 2 yrs. From software issues to iphones being too expensive. I predict they will go out of business by 2030. No one is gonna buy a phone or flip phone for $1,999.
I’m not sure if Apple is going to shut down the entire business but their share of selling the services is growing rapidly. So maybe we will just get more expensive and more ordinary hardware by then?

It's neither an iPhone Pro nor an iPad mini. Have you not read any of the information available?
I said it would be a better example, I never said it was going to actually be either of those devices. We don't know what it will be at this point. We are over a year away from the rumored launch and with Apple's track record of late, I am sure it will be pushed out beyond the second half of next year.

I think AAPL sells as many as they can make. It’s a day one purchase for me. Preorder and pay about $3k to max it out. Just hope can connect it to a display and use it remotely. Would love to not have to travel with anything but an iPhone Fold. Oh and 16GB of Memory. No screwing around.

Indeed they have gone downhill. I have sold off my AAPL in chunks over the past 2 years. I don’t think they’ll go out of business, but the days of major innovation and outsized growth are in the past
Oh my. AAPL was at ~130 1/23 and is at ~212 today, a 63% increase. Sorry for your lost potential two years of AAPL gains, since you "have sold off my AAPL in chunks over the past 2 years."

Well Samsung is proving that wrong with the price they have set with the Fold and Flip 7. Some people do pay full price direct from Samsung or Apple but I would say most people are buying on payment plans with Verizon, t-mobile, etc. So they don't look at the 1999 price tag, they are looking at Free over 3 years or $33.99 per month, etc.

I’ll wait for the. 2nd or 3rd gen model. The 5.5” external display is not appealing since so we will see. Plus 1st gen look at the 1sf gen Apple Watch. Edition
