Hello there!

I have received this weird email concerning this settlement. I did actually change my keyboard once for my laptop, but I have never taken part in the lawsuit... is this normal? And is it genuine or a sort of SPAM?

Thanks!

How do they get a four-year limit on who they can reimburse? My keyboard started acting up in November of 2022 and i purchased my MacBook Air in 2018. The lawsuit did not cover my state and Apple never notified me of this issue. last week, one rep said they would pay for the parts and said she would call me in two days. There is no record of the offer. A laptop should last more than 5 years. I'm so upset. Thinking about taking them to small claims court. Has anyone had any luck with taking Apple to small claims in the State of CT? I can sue for the cost of laptop or cost of new keyboard and labor.

They replaced the keyboard on my 2018 MacBook Pro for free. They can't offer a replacement keyboard, because they change the complete "computer" part (lower part of the laptop).

Since then, the keyboard works perfectly. 2,5 years later, all good.
I think that's only if your purchase is less than four years? Is that your case?

I really liked the butterfly keyboard (w. Touch Bar) but I ended up with 2 keyboards replaced, the current/last one has lasted me over a year without issue. I’m glad to see  turning the page on this thing but I will miss the butterfly keyboard and Touch Bar setup.

It's genuine. But of course they notified everyonee after the time period was up. I thought my mom's parkinson's had passed onto me because of all the errrors.

Wow. You are indeed a rare bird sir. Some people liked either the touch bar >or< the butterfly crapboard, and then others hated both. But to 'really like' both? Just. Wow.

Maybe I just think different. 😉 The only downsides I’ve had were the obvious replacement (2x) and the occasional blank TouchBar after wake.

I liked both too. Luckily I still have a 2019 MBP so have the touch bar but the keyboard feels really mushy vs the butterfly.

Have you tried the Magic Keyboard on the new 14” MacBooks?

I know what you mean the keyboard of the previous models 2012 does feel mushy but the butterfly to me feels like I’m typing on concrete not a good feeling but that’s me.

The 14” MacBook on the other hand I really like the Magic Keyboard.
