I believe in the keynote Steve said Mobile Me would be available sometime in September.

i want to know what is going on... because it seems more logical that the stores would start selling them around 8:00am due to the fact that they are doing "in-store activation" this time... Imagine it at 6pm - with all the customers wanting the iphone... What time would they close... ? 3 am? No No No...

it seems more likely that 8am is the correct time they will open & sell the iphone 3g's on friday :]

I want to know how much AT&T stuff they'll do at the Apple stores. They need some simple website to sign a commitment for new service, maybe some credit info, here's your phone, seeya.
How did they deal with SIMs before?

No news anyone? Did they even talk about the iPhone 3G? I expected to see a post with news.

They didn't and they probably won't again. The 2G iPhone came out of the box with the SIM already inside. SIM formatting happened during the activation process.

you COULD swap out an existing SIM if you really wanted to, but there's no reason, unless you also use that SIM on another phone and store contacts on it.

I very much doubt that anyone in the meeting was from anywhere other than Apple or AT&T. I would also guess that the meeting delegates have had to sign a non disclosure agreement to prevent them from revealing any information until it comes out officially.

Since when has NDA stopped someone

What I want to know is the amount of iPhones they'll limit per person. That would be interesting, considering how I'm waiting in line for mine and another's.

You will probably be SOL, since AT&T has already announced a 1 per person limit like last year.

Mobile Me may launch after midnight tonight so maybe everyone in the plan is getting last minute details before things start to pop this coming week.

According to this page MobileMe will be available on the 11th:

Pricing & Availability
MobileMe, available on July 11, is a subscription-based service with 20GB of storage for $99 (US) per year for individuals and $149 (US) for a Family Pack, which includes one master account with 20GB of storage and four Family Member accounts with 5GB of storage each.

What I think the person is referring to unknowing is the notification server that wont be up until september.

-illusion

im thinking(and a couple of other people on another thread are thinking) it may actually might be july 10th. because with the confirmed news of AT&T getting their demo iPhones on Tuesday, they (the phones) would have to have the GM version of 2.0.
so maybe a possibility of thurs? I am not starting a rumor just using logic from other news.

So thats it SBIk2 confirmed it the 2.0 update will be coming out on the 10th everybody watch out.

I doubt a child would be counted as elgible to purchase an iphone since they wouldnt be able to sign the contract, isn't the age requirements 16 or 18 to sign an iphone contract?

What if its a family plan, and the child is counted because the letter said 1 per person in line regardless of age.

Can you show us where? I figure you can get as many as you can add on to your account, probably five.

I'm sure you can, but not in the same visit. Want more than one iPhone? Buy one, get back to the end of the line for the next. At least until launch day frenzy wears off.
