I forgot to post the desktop I used this week. It's very simple and I'm glad I'm switching to a new one tonight.

Hint: In Dashboard there are only a few widgets out there for radar and most are area specific. Since my favorite local radar doesn't have its own widget, I made a work around.
Download the widget called, "Slothcam", which is a widget that displays the webcam for Time Square. Go to the address of your favorite radar and copy the address of it. Turn over the sloth cam and paste the address in the box, then click done. Now you have your favorite radar with you.

Wow, another use for SlothCam. What an awesome widget! I love watching the webcams right on Dashboard.

Not that it is a problem, but isn't there a monthly dashboard thread that mirrors this desktop thread in purpose? I have the monthly screensaver one  but I thought the mirror dashboard thread was around too.

As I said, not a problem but if they are being kept seperate, its probably easier to backtrack and find the 'goodones' in their specific threads.

Yea, your right...sorry.

I actually wasn't able to find a June Dashboards thread, just a May one. Oh well, I still wont post them here.

I think you might have to start one. I didn't see one either, just recalled seeing one for May. They usually start up a little bit after the desktops take off it seems, so if a search yields nothing I'm sure if you start one they will come, they always do ;)

It's no problem, just trying to stay organized :D

Wouldn't it make more sense to create a Desktops/Dashboards thread for July? Dashboards don't change THAT much and I think it would be better for people to provide both in one thread.
Just my 2¢

Well if there were 2 separate thread I think it would be easier. If you're looking for some new widgets go to the dashboard thread, and if you want some new backgrounds go to the desktop thread. But it would really be fine either way.

The two desktops from home to follow shortly

I liked your desktop so much I decided to vectorize yours and made my own HD version (Pardon the messy desktop... Too many projects). I love Family Guy.

Nice. I was actually unsure for a moment if it were the original or the Photoshop. Had to go back to your thread to check.

My eyes must be failing me....or maybe it's my memory.

One of many... mine changes every minute right now, between probably 50+ pictures. I like this one though.

I think either could obviously work, but as killuminati stated I think it's easier to have two seperate threads so that you can be directed to where you specifically want to go. There are probably a ton of threads that *could* be combined but having them seperate yields more accurate search results when you are trying to find a specific thing. If all of the pictures weren't attached, I might be more inclined to combine but since the common occurance is to have people ask for copies or originals of backgrounds (and probably for widgets too, not sure since I'm not running Tiger) it seems easier to seperate those two topics/requests.

None of this matters if no one posts both threads from the beginning though next month, since usually the initial opening of the thread starts the crazy chaos of ''Monthly Desktops" :)

I just think that since so many people provide Dashboard shots in the desktop picture thread and there is no Dashboard thread it would make sense to rename the next desktop thread to reflect this change.

What is that tranfering program in your menu bar that i assume shows your up and down loading tranfer rate?
MenuMeters.
Also, how did you get that powerbook icon on your desktop? Would love to do the same
It's just an icon replacement for the regular HDD icon. Got it from www.iconfactory.com, possibly in one of the "world of aqua" icon packs.
one last question, did you see michael schumi in the GP of Canada today?
:D
I don't want to talk about it!

I see your point and agree. My point was not what is existing but rather to change that existing setup in the proposed setup. I realize that commonly people post both in the this thread, however if we make it known there are seperate threads for each shot then I bet most people would comply, especially if a few people early on post some decently kind reminders about the *new* thread over there for that type of stuff.

I don't care either way (this is all de-seated anger from not having Tiger....not really) but it's just a proposed solution to organize things a bit and make searching for things a little easier....IMO that is.
