    Congrats, and not at all
    It is a great device

    Enjoy it
    I <3 mine

There will always be new technology around the corner
A new phone is likely not going to come till this fall
Even then, the changes could be incremental... nobody knows
iOS 5 will run on the iPhone 4 so you are set

Honestly, I personally wouldn't buy a device that is already a full year old. The hardware is getting dated even though it will be supported by the upcoming OS. I would have waited until the Fall for iPhone 5. Even if it's an incremental update, the specs will match the state of the art devices from other manufacturers.

They didn't change a thing. Notice how you haven't heard anything about it at all lately and that the iPhone 4 is still flying off the shelves? That's because it really wasn't that big of a deal to begin with. It was just blown way out of proportion.

There were some people that it had a big impact on, but the vast majority of people never would have even noticed had it not been all over the web and news. If you are planning on using any sort of case then it will 100% definitely not be a problem for you.

Enjoy your new iPhone! :D It's a great piece of hardware.

the only thing im worried about is that the iphone 5 is going to be 10 times better and it would make me mad but i can always break it during warranty and they will replace it with the new iphone for FREE

That's probably not the smartest thing i would've done.
Why? Now you're stuck in a 2 year contract with a phone that's 1 year old. You paid full subsidized price for it, and you'll possibly be able to upgrade 2 years from now. Hence still missing out on the iPhone 6 upgrade. So why would you waste the upgrade for a 1 year old device, when the iPhone 5 will probably be released in 3 months?
You might end up kicking yourself for upgrading early when the iPhone 5 ends up being a great upgrade, and all your buddies are walking around with it.

There might always be new technology around the corner, but not a new iPhone.

My sister dropped hers off the hood of my dad's Escalade and the back shattered completely...but then again, I've seen videos on YouTube of people dropping theirs and it doesn't shatter until the 10th drop. It all depends on where and how it lands I guess. I've yet to drop mine and I've been caseless since day one.

Ummm no, that's not how it works. If your phone has an issue from normal use and due to a manufacturer defect (screen coloring, button not working properly etc, battery draining too quickly etc.) then they will replace it with a refurbished unit of the same device (ex: iPhone 4 for iPhone 4). They will NOT replace your iPhone 4 for a new iPhone 5 under any circumstance.

I just got an iPhone 4 the other day, too. I used the following reasons:

1- I had money now. I might not in September
2- We don't *really* know it's coming out in September. Or, it could be announced in Sept but coming out in Oct.
3- Oddly, AT&T let me update early. I was only about 14 months into my current contract.
4- It had features I can use now, that were problematic on my 3GS (I could only do Bluetooth Personal Hotspot. I can't get any of my devices on even the wired LAN at work).

Some don't really care. I know my family all wanted the 3gs when the 4 was out due to the form factor

You must have gotten a VERY nice genius right after he got laid. They don't do that.

The 5 is not going to be lighyears ahead of the 4, so I am sure you will be fine if you do not feel like you have to have the 'latest and greatest'. Hell, I am still using an LG feature phone while I wait for VZ to come out with a cheaper data plan. Then I will get a 4 as I am sure the 5 won't be worth the wait.

    yes and no

yes because its 12 month old technology still being sold at the same price, and newer technology is around the corner

and No because its still a wonderful phone which runs its OS very smoothly and maybe you needed a phone now and couldnt wait.
