im finally a part of the ipad 3 family. i know many of you guys dont care, but i just got an amazing deal on a brand new ipad 3. A guy on CL let it go for 390!!! Im ecstatic right now.

This here. Easiest way to check is the dictation feature, scroll to anywhere wit a keyboard and see if there is a microphone under the X key.

Yikes. I'm thinking he got a 2. People on CL are asshats. Not having a previous iPad, you really can't tell the difference between the screens. Tried this with several people since they were asking me about it. Showed them a 2 and then a 3.

If it's indeed an iPad 3rd gen, maybe it's an stolen item. Otherwise, anyone would simply take it back to the store for a full refund.

You're right...if I was the OP I'd worry about his iPad being stolen/shoplifted - assuming this really is an iPad 3. None of this makes sense.

He said he received it as a gift when he already had one. I believe him cause if he returned it, the money would go back to the original card and not him.
