hello,
but yah, i knew it was a three from the wallpaper. it was also fully sealed. yay for me!
and yes -_____- its a 100% ipad 3.
You're obviously lying. Unless it was stolen, then you're a criminal.

if it's definitely an iPad 3, then it's likely stolen. no one's stupid enough to sell it that cheap...it's still within all return windows for all places.
Well, not saying he did, but receiving of stolen property even if you aren't aware it is stolen is still a crime. It's pretty impossible to prosecute if the item purchased is within a "reasonable" legit price but it will still be confiscated by the police. Now if you buy one for let's say $100 "having no idea it was stolen" isn't a get out of jail free card and you could be prosecuted. Those people are usually known as "fences."Wirelessly posted
Um how is this guy a criminal exactly? He saw an iPad at a great price on CL and went for it. He has no idea what the history of it is. Calling him a criminal is pretty extreme.
Sorry don't believe you, if I had a extra someone bought me, I would give it back to the original person. Think you got a 2, oh and enjoy the wallpaper.![]()
haha yeah man. just found out i got the 2 with the retina display.
frick. kinda pissed.![]()
Kinda think you didn't get anything....... Just saying.
For a refund YES, but for a warranty exchange, NO. They look it up by serial number. That's all that matters. The SN shows the initial "in service" date (the first date it was connected to iTunes ) or if you bought it directly from Apple it would show the shipping or purchase (not order) date as the warranty start date.Wouldn't you have to show proof of purchase? Before they'd do a refund or swap?
Are you really surprised he got it so cheap?
The new ipad is heavier, thicker and slower and riddled with screen tint problems.
The 2 will probably carry a higher resale value

Model is MC705LL
He said he received it as a gift when he already had one. I believe him cause if he returned it, the money would go back to the original card and not him.
geez. why is everyone so mad i got a good deal![]()
Guy is idiot cause even if u received it as gift u can still return it to retail store for full store credit ($500 plus taxes)
This does not make sense.
I had ordered 2 iPad. One wifi and one LTE. When I returned it to apple store they asked if I wanted it on credit card credit or if I wanted apple store credit.
Couple things... these "deals" are out there every once in a while but 99% of the time they are stolen, hence, you should not be out bragging online about it. Second, suspicion is raised because someone using CL, has some level of internet savvy and would understand that, within minutes of posting on eBay they could have made much more money.
The problem with stolen things is that they will show up in the system eventually and now with everything being online, in a cloud, etc. it WILL catch up to you.
When you buy electronics, ESPECIALLY new/unused, you need to require a receipt.
Generally, you won't get prosecute but you will have to give back the merchandise.
ash =o)

The problem with CL is, that there's a good chance that if the deal is unreasonably good, you are putting yourself in a dangerous situation. This is compounded by the fact that the motivating factor is greed, whereas, although there's nothing inherently wrong with greed, it can become your undoing, and often is. A perp knows this, and uses it to his advantage. If the deal goes south, you have only yourself to blame which is greatly exacerbated by the knowledge that the perp knows this, and is most likely laughing about it.
We are our own worst enemy.
As an alternative, I use Ebay, and although you can get scammed if you're careless, Ebay has taking great strides in making it safe to do business.
Ebay is a sophisticated business market. CL is the Wild West.
