Would you take a picture of a white paper or white wall and post here for us, please? I have the green tint issue.

That's the only problem I have with the phone so far..

thanks!

This is the best I have ever seen on my download speed.

That's what I am talking about !! When did u take those speeds ?

If it matters were you live wouldn't that be a signal issue and not a phone problem?

It's a combination of both. The signal is weaker in certain areas, but the phone's antenna flaws mean that it's easier to make it lose that signal if your hands are in the way at all. The iPhone 4's antenna drops more of the signal than most phones when simply held in a hand.

ALL THE PHONES ARE THE SAME. There are no 'fixed batches'. Sure, there are some real manufacturing defects (like the one that caught fire charging), but otherwise, all you people exchanging phones for signal issues and/or proximity sensor issues are wasting your time. And Apple is stupid for exchanging them instead of issuing a statement and a fix.

Furthermore, those of you who think you do not have either of these problems will soon discover that you in fact do under the right circumstances. No one has a super duper perfect anomaly of an IP4. I don't have signal issues where I live, but have traveled other places and been able to easily reproduce. And don't get me started on the proximity sensor.

Apple, step up and fix these problems. They are absolutely egregious and unacceptable.

I, too, have had little in the way of reception problems. Again, I think so much of it depends upon where you are and the relative strength of the AT&T signal in your area.
There is one spot near me where NO cell coverage exists from any provider due to the terrain. But I compare my iPhone 4 reception favorably with my earlier Motorola and an iPhone 3g.
I am certainly not dismissing all of the accumulated first hand reports of signal problems people are having, just adding my own experience to that mix.

Have you tested EVERY SINGLE iP4 on the planet? No? THEN **** with your opinions.

Not saying that every phone doesn't have the issue, but how do you know there wasn't a manufacturing flaw in the first few batches of phones that leads to the antenna issue? How much do you realistically know about the design of the phone?

Obviously whether or not it affects every phone is irrelevant, apple needs to fix the problem, but you cannot so matter of factly state that the issue applies to EVERY SINGLE PHONE.

Especially when you see reports like Engadgets that state that while all of their phones drop bars, some never lose calls or get a slower connection while others are dropping calls regularly.

It doesn’t matter where I go, no reception problem (even with 1-2 bars initially).

agreed.

what I don't understand is, if it's an issue in weak signal areas, why does mine not exhibit this behavior when I am in an area with 1 or 2 bars, when all the videos showing the issue show it in an area with 5 bars! If it only shows up in a weak signal area, then mine should show up when I am in a 2 or 1 bar area shouldn't it?

Well that is a good question isn't it. That neither confirms or denies an issue though. If some experience something one way and others another - then there's "something" going on.

Because the people exchanging the phones for these design flaw issues ultimately discover the replacements are no better. Lots of people optimistically claim their new phone is fixed only to report later that it is in fact NOT.

I have yet to see a signal test on two different IP4s under the EXACT same conditions with vastly different results.

Apple ****ed this one up. Screen is gorgeous, but otherwise I'd rather have my 3GS back. I really need the phone part to work. It only works marginally.. which is really a huge FAIL since they had it working fine on the previous models.

Well OP, can I have your iPhone 4 then? Because mines has signal issues.

This^^^
1st iPhone 4 sent to my doorstep in Oregon on the 23rd=Reception/transmission degradation if not complete drop off holding left handed. Also should note it was getting terrible battery life.
2nd iPhone 4= same reception loss blah blah in same location in Oregon.
10 Days later the phone is with me up in Seattle. Downtown. And CAN'T get it to replicate the signal degradation...no matter what I do.
Conclusion Seattle has a strong enough signal so that it doesn't show the massive drop when the lower left is covered.
Also while suprising that I now have a "flawless iPhone 4" it was a non issue before with the first iPhone 4 I was sent. It never changed my user experience at all. There is a bumper installed. But up here in Seattle, bumper off...I have been Death Gripping this phone while typing this entire post... Not a bar dropped. Every iPhone does this. As stated countless times already it's about location and towers and frankly many factors that are beyond me.
All I know is face time is so bad ass! And that thank god is not over any towers or cell networks yet. They are not ready. Video chatting with your father on his way home from Mexico, while he is at 30,000 ft going 600 mph is priceless....oh an the battery on this second bugger is leaps and bounds better. In Oregon I was able to test both in the same location for a week or more. I get a day and a half almost 2 days before I charge now. Compared to the 1st which barely made it 3/4 of the day with everything disabled and babied throughout the day.
Absolutely loving this phone compared to the 3G. What a beast. A fuel efficient beast.

Got mine just a couple of day ago and definitely have the antenna issue, so I think this whole, "fixed batch" notion is bunk.

The first five numbers on my serial are 82027

I bought 2 32G's last week, Zero issues. I do miss double clicking the home button for favorites, but other than that, every thing is a big step up from my previous 3G's

LOL not even close to decent buddy, most people report speeds of around 4k..

1280 kbps is decent. Of course it depends on your location to a tower and congestion. Most people do not report 4k. 4k may be the max they have received but its not the average. You are going to give him the impression that something is drastically wrong with his phone or network when its normal.

FWIW --

Death grip does not visibly degrade the signal where I live. Strong signal here and I've always been happy with ATT. You can find my posts on launch day stating that I couldn't replicate the issue. Still true.

That said, I am still caseless waiting for my case of choice to release. And while I cannot make the bars go down, I can easily garble a conversation by touching the wrong spot.

While that is pretty ridiculous itself, I can live with it especially if the case mostly eliminates that issue.

The proximity sensor I cannot live with. Anyone that doubts the prevalence of this problem should go check out the 100+ page thread on Apple's board. It will get worse too, as lots of folks who think they've just gotten another dropped call will soon realize their face is actually 'dropping' the call.

Well I don't need to post the picture, I don't have any green tinting.

LOL - if you don't have any green blob- then you should have no problem posting a picture to show a picture taken with your iPhone doesn't have it.

Your response is ridiculous. Unless you're lying. Then it's just lame.
