In my house I get 3-5 bars usually about 4. I can't get the bars to move while death gripping..

Also I work in a hospital with lead walls I get pretty much no signal to 1 bar (on a desk) if I pick the phone up and do the deathgrip or bridge the connections or anything people been saying my bar(s) don't move.

So I don't know what to tell some of you insisting its not hardware and every phone suffers. Mine does not, and I have no reason to lie.

However I purchased a case anyway because I don't want my phone to explode when it drops

The only issue I had was super slow 3G speeds, that lasted about 4-5 days after launch then one day it was fixed (assumed this was an AT&T issue).

*Edit*

I will add I did have a problem with the phone the other day. I pretty much haven't turned it off since I got it so it must have been on like a week and a half straight or so. Anyways all of a sudden when I put the phone into standby the little noise it makes was all distorted. And then every sound that came from the phone was distorted.. I rebooted the phone and then it was fixed, but ya odd. Anyone have that before?

I'm perfectly happy with my iphone. I needed a case but not for the antenna issue. It helps me be able to grip the phone comfortably.

I got my iPhone 4 at launch and could not reproduce the antenna attenuation problems even before I put the film and case on my phone. For a while I thought I wasn't holding the phone in the right way to reproduce the problem, but after watching a few videos I know what the 'death grip' is.

Also my screen is a little cooler (i.e. whiter) than a couple of my friends. I wonder if there were different patches of iPhone 4's. If this is true, then it is really bad QC on Foxconn's part. Maybe Apple needs a new contracter.

Got mine yesterday and it has the Grip of Death problem but no other reception issues. In facts it has awesome reception! Go Apple!

I'm afraid its not a matter of 'Go Apple!' This death grip issue must be ubber annoying to those who have it. I smell a recall. This will put a small divet in the stock value, but nothing that a new iPad won't solve.

Going off on a tangent, but when are we going to get a new Mac Pro? Not that I can afford one right now.
