Just bought a 2016 refurb ... coming from a 2010 MBP 13.

Very happy :)

Where were you guys finding new m7 Macbooks? On the website all there are are m3 and m5 models. Did they discontinue the m7 once the MBP was released so that people would buy that if they wanted a higher clock speed?

I think the most value for macbook is the core m5, plus you get the 512gb ssd. I felt no difference from my m5 and m7. Even when converting videos, it's not that much noticeable. Better have the 512gb ssd on the m5.

I currently have a 15 inch mid 2014 refurbished MBPr i7/16/512 (I'll be waiting for the second gen tbMBPr) and I need a portable computer for my upcoming IT business. I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 i7/16/256 a few days ago and I'll be returning it back to Microsoft today. The reason why I'm returning it that its defective: The screen flickers, it takes a few minutes to open up an app, battery life is around 4 hours, it disconnects from my network, a horrible clicking sound coming on every 2 mins from inside it, and the delay of the touch screen response. I should have listened to the IT support techs at my current job about the MS Surface line being issue prone and they were right. To be honest my 15 inch MBPr still runs flawless without any major issues and it has longer battery life than the SP4.

Yesterday I ordered a refurbished MBR 2016 edition m7/8/512. This MBr will be temporary solution until the second gen 13 tbMBPr gets released next year.

I can see it when I go to the link you provided, but it doesn't offer it when I go to Apple.com > Mac > MacBook > buy.

It does for me, once I click the model say 256 then hit select at the bottom it gives me an option for the m7. YMMV.

ok, and what percentage of users is that? 40%? 2%? in the scale of things, that makes a huge difference.

I agree with you, but for me, it´s a very expensive investment and so i read many forums about it ... with 2% i can live ;)

I saw the rose gold MacBook the other day and oh my, it's the most beautiful Mac that i've ever seen. I was not impressed with the new MacBook Pro's sadly - not a patch on the MacBook with its awesome design. Definitely my favourite Mac of all time!

Had a few minutes with the new Macbook Pro today and I have to say the first impressions was that it's the sturdiest piece of technology I have ever held. The keyboard is nice! It's clearly an upgrade as it made me type faster and I like the new clicky sound. The display is out of this world amazing and the touchbar felt really nice to the touch. Not sure it's very useful as of today though. The price is what kills it... This is one of the best laptops of 2016, but it's just too expensive... I really hope Apple realise this too for next year and lower the touchbar model price.

am thinking whether i should get a macbook or a macbook air
any advise, pl?

It's up to you if the old ports are important for you. I would personally go for the Macbook, as it's powerful enough for my usage and until everything becomes USB C, there are adapters for everything you need. It's more ready for the future than the Air which is soon going out of production anyway (or so they say). Not to mention the display. It's not beautiful by todays' standards on the Air.
