enjoy mine but...........

I enjoy mine and I am not a big complainer but my first iP5 had a the speaker was blown/distorted.. Doesn't really matter what it was but in order to talk on the phone I had to use speaker so they "expressed shipped" me another in which I had to pay for but oh well.... Now the new one I received had nicks and scuffs on it.. To be honest that does not bother me as they weren't that bad and I will have it in a case anyways. Well there is another non subjective problem that you can't fabricate in our own head.....The WI FI doesn't work. So now I have to spend my time and money to go get another. It is what it is but Apple has been really unimpressive as late..

Glad you like your phone.. I'd keep the one I have if I could download movie/tv shows and apps over 50 mb's since I have unlimited data but I cant so I need wifi..

Managed to reserve a iPhone 5 for next-day pick up at my local Apple store.

I have to say, I am blown away. The initial impression of, "it's just a taller screen" is dead wrong. It's the next logical step in the design form factor, a sort of evolution, if you will.

The phone is light as hell and with LTE it's BLAZING fast. The A6 chip makes this thing just "zoom zoom"!

I know I sound like a fan girl, but the phone is just brilliant. The bigger screen is so underrated, and I LOVE the lightning connector.

The white one is classy, and the black one is sleek.

What are people complaining about, exactly? MacRumors is a strange place. I've been a lurker for a while now and I remember when the iPhone 4 images "leaked," people were calling it a Chinese knock-off, a design that was SO un-Apple, then when it was released, people were praising the heck out of and its "elegant, Apple-esque design"

And SO many people on here flaming users for claiming the next phone would be called the iPhone 5. Uh, DUH! Who honestly believed this would be called anything else? haha

This place is full of good info, and full people who think they know everything. What is an Apple design, what is not. What it will be called, what it won't.

I say, let's just see what Apple puts out there and let's test it out at the store before we even pass judgement on it.

[/praise of iPhone 5] [/rant]

Ugh another, I got an iPhone and there is nothing wrong with it thread? LAME!

Was lucky to snag one at Target today--black 16GB. I absolutely love it! Was problem-free out of the box. Thought the earpiece was extremely low during a call. Easy fix -- just had to remove the plastic on the screen :D

Loving the phone. Sorry for those of you who got defective phones. Got Applecare and plan on going case-free.

Don't you just love that? I did that on my 4 and felt like an idiot when I realized there was plastic covering the speaker :)

he got lucky with his iPhone and he looks around and wonder what the fuss is all about.
Maybe he should practice a little empathy and wonder what it would be like to be plagued with issues and have to go through replacement after replacement and trip after trip to the Apple store. We didn't ask to be in this situation.

Agreed. This phone is remarkable. I feel it is the biggest leap forward for iPhones so far. The build quality is unlike any electronic gadget I've ever seen.

+1. Me coming from a 3G, I feel like someone "turned ON the light"!! This apparatus is fantastic.

It's these freaking tech sites knowing what gets them page hits and milking it. Post an article about a flaw with the Samsung Galaxy S3 and they get page hits from S3 owners. Post an article about an iPhone 5 flaw, and you get page hits from iPhone owners, S3 owners, Android owners, Windows Phone 7 owners, Blackberry owners and Palm Pre owners.

I had one for a week and returned it yesterday and reactivated my old 4. I had purchased it at full price with the intention of keeping my unlimited data plan, but after some usage testing realized I should just use my upgrade and switch. I was hoping that the store would be able to sell me the same phone back after return or give me a different one, but they were unable to do either.

To be honest, going back to the 4 hasn't bothered me at all. Which got me to thinking about the 5 and realizing there is literally almost nothing new about it. The 4 can do pretty much everything the 5 does. The only real differences (that effect daily usage) are LTE and the processor. I'm not missing the 5 at all, or nearly as much as I thought I would. These updates are evolutionary, and are coming out much more slowly than they should.

I really feel like Apple is going to need to take some real steps to innovate beyond just trying to keep up with the tech specs of Android phones. I've been looking at the new Windows 8 phones and am now eagerly awaiting some reviews to come out. It might be a colossal failure (we're talking Microsoft here) but it is exciting to see a company try to push the boundaries again. Sometimes being an underdog is good for a company, see Apple in the early 2000s.

If WP8 phones end up being terrible, I'll probably upgrade back to a 5. But it's no longer a clear-cut decision for me (I strongly considered the S3 as well). The 5 is a nice phone, it's just not really anything new.

Thoughts?

I suspect apple pays some posters to come on here and combat all the problem threads with I love my iPhone threads...

What's really sad is if these people are not being paid by Apple but, instead, ignore all the problems many people are having by simply retorting: "Mine's flawless!"

I wanted a 5 and had planned to get a 5, but there's just too many issues with it. Played with it at ATT and although it's gorgeous, it looks way too delicate for a mobile device and I saw no real advantages over the tried and true 4S, so I bought that instead and couldn't be happier.

Between bending issues, popping screens, wifi trouble, a host of other issues and a choice of materials that's bound to have the phone look like hell this time next year, no thanks.

exactly how I feel. Perfectly happy with I have for right now.
in the past I've always updated my OS' to the latest versions, which ended up crippling it and creating the desire for a faster and newer phone.

But i got my 4S on 5.1.1 and i'm really happy. :) The issue isn't so big on the 4S but on the 4, iOS 6 sucks IMO. Also have an iPhone 4 in my plan running on 5.1.1 and it's doing great :)
