Just got this email from Apple about multiple orders for the iPhone X. I ordered 2, and I meant to order 2. Never got an email like this before. Anyone know if it means anything or is just a general email making sure I didn’t order 2 by mistake?
I ordered 2 - 256g space grey X’s. One paid in full delivering 11/3, one on IUP delivering 11/17-24.

What happens if you don't cancel any order?

Did you order one via the web and one via the app? They might have thought you were just trying multiple avenues to get ONE in an attempt to get in on the first batch of delivers and accidentally ended up with one from each of your attempts from different devices.

I'd get in contact with them to avoid the risk of them cancelling your order(s).

You got this because you ordered 2 phones on a single line. So you'll have to cancel one of the orders.

Yup same thing, are they using the same number? If so, how did u manage to use the same number twice?

Seems to me that they just want to verify if u really need two phones. Maybe u used the same number that’s why they’re verifying if u have duplicate.

If you don’t cancel one, they will, hope it’s not the one with the earliest delivery.

Are they on the same line/phone number?

I have 2 active lines. When I ordered I had 2 options..”upgrade this phone” or “buy a new iPhone on an existing wireless account”. One was done through IUP. The other was “buy a new iPhone...”. Should I’ve did something different to just “buy” a phone?

So one active line is on iup
And the other active line was paid in full?

As long as each order was associated with each respective line, you should be good and the email may be an error. If both phones are associated with the same line, you have your answer why you got the email of cancel one.

I have ask, did this email come from a reliable source? Do you know for sure it was Apple?

I have read of similar suspicious emails. I am beginning to wonder if there is something nefarious going on here. A competitor? State sponsored?

I got the same e-mail. I ended up with two phone orders because of the ATT glitch that triggered them to send a "reservation" note a few hours after I ordered. When I got the reservation email, I was only offered the ATT payment plan options, despite the fact that I originally ordered paying it off, full price. When I completed the reservation info, I changed the CC card and it apparently set up a separate phone order. So yes, they are on the same line. One is showing shipped already, checked with my order number via UPS. So I wonder how they are going to cancel them both if I just let them go?

Just got off the phone with Apple. They said there was no problem with either order. One is preparing to ship, the other is processing. Nothing in the system saying there were any potential problems. I asked her why I got the email and she said its basically a courtesy email because there were people who accidentally ordered multiple devices and they give them a chance to cancel one. I told her to please note the account that I want both phones, and she did. She also noted that I received an email and that I didn’t want to cancel anything. I told her to promise me that my launch day phone would not get screwed up. Lol. She laughed and promised me. She sounded like she knew what she was talking about. But I will be calling again tomorrow to check again.

I ordered two as well (couldn't decide on color, will return one LOL), one for pickup and one shipped on the same phone number. No such email, very strange that it's even something they would send out.

Somehow it seems wrong to me that when product is in such high demand that customers are allowed to buy more than one phone per number. Sure a couple months down the road when the pent up demand is satisfied. Buy as many as you like. But at the start.

Sorta like taking two or three helpings at food line of wedding when people behind are trying to get their first plate full. Kind of boarish behavior.

it happens when they find out your name and address match on two different accounts.

So you ordered two phones with two separate lines and still got that?

weird

maybe they're trying super aggressive tactics to reduce scalpers, or something
