So here’s what I did. The first phone I bought outright. So I selected “buy iPhone on existing wireless account”. Clicked my carrier (AT&T), selected the finish and capacity. And then checked out. Then I went back in and did the IUP phone. Basically the same thing except it was “upgrade my phone” instead of “buy outright”. So I’m a little confused as to what u mean by ordering for the same line. I have 2 lines with AT&T but I only upgraded one. But does that even matter. I mean, even if I only had one active line with AT&T I should still be able to buy another phone outright and give it as a gift or whatever. Right? Am I missing something?

I’m buying the second phone for my daughter. For Christmas. How does that compare to taking too much food at a wedding? Lol. It’s a 2 phone (to buy outright) limit. You can upgrade as many lines as u want as long as they are able to be upgraded.
So if it’snfor daughter she has a second number. So everything I said makes sense. Two numbers two phones. Yes if you have multiple lines upgrage multiple phones. Have no issues with that. It’s people buying multiple phones to resell that I find less than courteous to other consumers hoping to upgrade their phones as well.

I got this email too. I chatted with Apple and the rep seemed to not know what was going on. Just said my orders are preparing to ship and I should be fine. I asked her to ask her manager to make sure, and she said that it’s if you have two orders on the same number with the same email.

If you do not cancel one, they will cancel the first order placed.

So if she is right, both won’t be cancelled. Only the first. This came from a manager since she had no idea herself.

Sounds like someone didn’t get their iPhone order in time...or didn’t get dinner at a wedding. lol
Got my phone and son’s phone coming on Nov 3rd. So good there. Yes I did nothing t eat at one wedding because hogs got two helpings before others got first try at trough.

He said he has two active lines.
You are assuming I responded to that person alone. I re-read my post and no where did I accuse him of anything. I was making a general comment regarding people who buy multiple phones not on accounts for resale when so many people want to upgrade. Order as many as you have numbers for. Other I believe should wait several months. I stand by my opinion.

I just chatted with another rep, who was also pretty clueless. First she said it may be trying to upgrade two phones on the same line, in which case the LATER order would be cancelled (the first rep said the first order would be cancelled).

Then she started talking about having multiple orders regardless of them being on the same line (as in ordering 4 phones altogether on one account, even though each phone is for a different line).

I don't think she knew what she was talking about.

They making **** up as they go along. I hate when reps try to smooth things over with assumptions. If they don’t know say so. Don’t make things up.
