Seems that not only do I have to create a new lock screen instead of customizing my existing one, but my current wallpaper is not offered as an option, which is just asinine as I have no access to the original any more. Apple's designers just keep dropping the ball further and further, like in the Home app where apparently you have to tap *a specific part of the button* for it to turn devices on and off.

I don’t have suggested photos under featured. Anyone know if this is something I should be seeing?

Why can’t I choose one of the nice iOS16 wallpapers for my Home Screen that’s different to the Lock Screen? I don’t want a nice Lock Screen picture and then just a solid colour of gradient on the Home Screen - I’ve ended up having to save wallpapers to my photos to choose from there. Surely this isn’t such an odd thing to want?

you can though? I have two different wallpapers, one for the lockscreen and one for the homescreen?

Do we really need a search button at the bottom of the Home Screen when swiping down does the exact same thing (and has for years)?

This was the first thing I noticed. I just wanted to customize my current lock screen not create a completely different one. I also don't have access to the current image.

I think it’s okay to make search more discoverable. What’s more annoying is they removed the dots showing on which screen you are.

Is there a way to return the Lock Screen notifications to the middle of the screen and not the bottom? I changed the option to list but they list from the bottom up. Can that be flipped to list from top down?

You can have two different photos for lock and home, it's extremely clumsy to make it work!

While I agree that both gestures have the same output just seeing the word "search" is more useful to me than seeing dots although I only have 1 home screen and then apps, so dots are pretty much useless to me.

Is it me or is Perspective Zoom entirely gone? I don't see that option when I tap on the three dots...I only see Depth Effect.

Wondering how the "duplicate photos" work. I take several pictures of the same things sometimes to get a better light, etc... The pictures might look the same but they are not. How will Apple determine it is a duplicate photo and not two different ones of the same thing?
Good question. For that situation, a feature I would like is something to help me choose the best picture of the lot. I most often only want to keep one.

First time I’m not seeing a single useful feature that makes me want to hit that update button. My 12 Pro can see out its final year happily on iOS 15.
Yep. I don’t see one damned thing I could find useful. It’s all pointless sludge just to claim they’ve added value and improvement.

I see no reason to update to this.

Sure would be nice to be able to center the Weather Conditions widget under the lock screen clock, but it aligns to the left (or right) and apparently can't be centered.
