Ditto. Neither of my two local BB's say they will have them for a couple of weeks. I called bestbuy.com and they also said they can't confirm they will have any available online this Friday for sale.

Spoke with three salespeople at my local BB and they seemed very informed and almost excited for the iPad 2.
Current SKUs were marked down & priced accordingly.
All claimed vouchers will be available if requested Friday morning, but you would need to return ~5pm to purchase the product.
I'll give it a shot since it is just down the street - I don't have hours to spend at the Apple Store this year.

I spoke with someone at BB on Monday evening. They told me that they had no idea how many they would be getting and wouldn't know until the truck got there. I could believe that, but what I definitely could not believe was when they said not all stores in my area would be getting them on Friday. A smaller store like that would get them, but a larger one nearby wouldn't? They said yes. I think I'll be going to Apple most likely.
Or you could enjoy your weekend and check on Saturday after lunch to see if they have any available.
I understand wanting a product, but its not like you won't be able to buy one within a week of its release. Tablets are toys. Most people do not feel the need to buy one.

I will be going to best buy...why, well for every major release the Apple store makes people wait outside. I dont want to stand in the cold for 2hrs or more, so i'll go to BB and hang out...once i see a line start to form, i'll get in it..if not, i'll simply walk and get my Pads
I just got off the phone with the Boca Raton BB and was told they will start selling them @ 5:30-6:00 PM on Friday 
And thats fine with me cuz I will be there by 3:30 but still... Why almost an hour later then Apple??

trucks.. stocking. I'm assuming it wont' really matter to you since you're going to go early anyways to wait in some sort of line at a BB?
This is what I was thinking about this AM. At least at BB you can simply walk around and entertain yourself for an hour or so in warmth while waiting for the iPad to release. I don't think BB stores will be as crazy as Apple stores, if they will even be crazy @ all. Think I'll more than likely get off work @ 2:30 or 3 Friday and head over to BB.
No the poster is NOT crazy. There will be 20,000 stores launching the iPad 2 vs the 1200 stores last year for the iPad 1. Contrary to belief not everyone is going crazy over the iPad 2. Will SOME stores sell out yes it's possible, but will ALL stores sell out I sincerely doubt it.
Does BB have a section of the store dedicated to Apple products? I haven't been to a BB in ages.
Mine does. Big Apple light up sign visible from across the store with iPads on display for people to play with, accessories, MacBooks, etc.
Once they get the packages and possibly the memo as well they'll change their minds about selling before 5PM.
probably not. they come shrink-wrapped on palettes w/invoice. There's no golden ticket signed by $teve Job$ telling them what to do. Fact.
False. There actually are notes that come with pallets. And Apple products are even more unique, I'm sure BB will receive notice on when to release and how to release.
Seems like definite confirmation on Target and Best Buy... Has anybody seen confirmation on WalMart having them on Friday. I agree that it's not a must for all to get it on Friday... but I would like to know what the typical "restock" is on these places. Apple Store seems to be pretty good, but being that release is on a Friday, and only possible restock for Friday sales (leaving Saturday).
I can't imagine that most of these places won't be "restocked" by the following Tuesday...

The Apple guy at my local BB said that 5pm was the time, not 1 minute sooner. If any were opened/activated prior to official launch, an unpleasant conversation would take place with HR.
He wasnt sure about supply, but he was told that they will have plenty of all sizes and colors....

meh, I want one friday, and if i get there at 5, and there are none left or a stupid line around the store, I will not buy it friday....go online to apple and select2 day shipping....
this is exactly where I was plan on going for the release since I work down the street from it.Called one BB, and the woman had no clue about any of it, all she could say was I do not know when they will sell, when they will have them or if pre-orders will come first???
