Ok people. this is going to be the year of the apple. bill gates has
offically been invited to sh*t his pants.

This is the year ever stationary machine is over the ghz barrior. we will
see the flat panel imac we will see a new device most likely the
camcorder to go with imovie.

then we will see the powermac g5. oh and by the way the imac will drop in
price to a base off 799 upto 999. then g5 will start at 1999 and a middle
of the road g4 machine will fill in from 1099 to 1699.

the g4 will be something like the cube not very expandable. the g3 imacs
will be 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 the g4 will be 1.2,1.3,1.4 and the ultimate
droolmachine of 2002 will be the g5 at 1.2, 1.4,1.6, 1.8 (all in ghz)
flat panel prices will drop. 15" 459 17" 759 and 22" 1659 they will stay
there for the rest of the year unless something happens.

oh and one more thing we will see a tablet computer. not a stupid pda.
one that does so much more. the newton plus mac os x plus some goodies no
one knows about. all this plus more is why steve needs 2.5 hours instead
of 1.5 ps.

oh yeah, and they will come out with this beautiful server that can use
the cube techonology of the pull out machine so administrators can just
add more processors and ram as needed and it will be semihot swapable.
simply turn off the power to the individual box and it can be taken out.
the ultimate upgradable server.

by 2003 we will have another 10 million users. and the microsoft school
deal will either buy a ton of apple stuff or be in the dust. Long live
the mac.

It's obvious

It is even more obvious now. The ALT tag is now "Just one more ......"

Apple is making some sort of addictive knock out drug.

It's all there. "Just one more sleepless night" points directly at the fact that we will be sleeping at night. We will be sleeping because we all will be taking Apple's new iSleep drug. "Just one more...." is the battle cry of an addict who needs their fix. Their fix of iSleep that is.

Let look at some of the previous messages and relate them to iSleep now.

"Go where no PC has..." - You haven't ingested a pc have you?

"...Lust factor 10" - If you were addicted, you would be lusting.

"Beyond the rumor sites.." - I don't think that I have heard this one before.

"Backstage pass..." - Rock and Roll lifestyle....drugs.

"This one's big.." - They are getting into pharmacuticals. That is pretty big.

I'd like to see my grand-mother hook that unit up. She can barely figure out her answering machine, but ask her for her famous cookie recipe and she heads strait for her iMac.

The day she came home from a computer class for seniors and asked me "Why would I click 'Start' to shutdown?" I gave her my old Blueberry. She quit the class the next day.

As had been said so many times, the Mac OS is about making power blend with simplicity.

I don't think she will ever need the merged device your dreaming of. I'm sure we would all buy it but we are what a couple of thousand people.

I have some free advise for those attending the event tomorrow. And this is based on past experience. Get alot of sleep tonight. More than usual.

Tomorrow will be the biggest day for buzz and hard news in recent memory. Put yourself in a position to exploit it.

Get DETAILS on the nenw stuff that the rumor sites live for. EXACT port complements of the devices, exact port speeds and protocols, exact system versions in use for each, real photographs of hardware from angles NOT offered in the general press and presentation. Being there in person gives you a true opportunity you cannot exploit if you are falling asleep right when the truth is revealed.

Please do the right thing and populate the rumor sites with BREAKING HARD NEWS. Then macrumors.com will be the feature of television news programs.

its funny... i just realized how much easier cruising the web for rumors and leaks has been on my iBook then when i was searching during the summer on my compaq. Maybe all of this hype is to get us in front of our Macs more so we realize how awesome they really are.

For me, living in belgium, it's one more sleepless night AND one more sleepless day.

(the keynote will be at 9 o clock in the morning, that means 18 o clock in the evening for me...)
 
PDA

I am always intrigued that people still hope for a Newton-like PDA. Steve Jobs himself has said that Apple will not get into that business. The PDA business is waining with both Palm and Handspring cutting prices which means less profit for them. Both companies are having financial troubles because of this situation. No PDA, No way.

I don't believe that crap that he's not interested in the PDA...

He is, in that article he said it was not the funnest thing right now! In longterm I am sure he is interested... Anyway why would apple waist money funneling income into Inkwell if they where never going to use it?!?
 
all what we're Steve's TV comments?

There were famous comments from Sir Jobs a while back regarding the difference between computers and TVs.

Something like: jobs on televisions becoming computers (and vice-versa); "we switch on to use a computer and switch off to watch TV, the combining of the two will never happen".

Okay, I'm paraphrasing, but like his PDA comments, do we think he's being consistent or about to eat his own words?

Or is a digital hub not really a computer anyhow.

 
iPod

Anyone noticed that the iPod has an estimated shipping period of 10 days on the Apple store?

 
My reccomendation for anyone on dialup is to set connection speed to 28.8kbps.At least that way you get sound instead of 1fps video and sound that needs rebuffering every 2 minutes.
 
I'll say this much about the old alt tag, the one that said "For the web designers" or something to that extent. The fact is, the only people who can really help prepare for and setup the keynote are the people who know what the big secret is. Guess what? there's only about 100-200 of them. Most probably aren't even at the show. This leaves very few people to work, and as a result they're pulling all nighters. A guy I know as been sleeping at the center the past few nights and tonight will most likely pull an all nighter. Whatever it is (he's only dropped very minor, more tortuos clues to me thus far), it's big. Really big.
I'll leave with one point of advice: Pick up a copy of TIME magazine tomorrow morning ASAP (the new issue, obviously). You don't think Apple employees are the only "in the know," do you?
