Just ordered Alu MacBook 2.4!

Don't worry you'll love the computer, I'm certain and you'll notice a HUGE improvement compared to the MacBook you have just now. :D

Would you mind posting that color calibration? Is it a file or just a list of settings I need to change? These 2 days are gonna be horrible waiting for it, and as you saw in my screenshot im using a horrible windows piece of crap. Is there any other new features on the MacBook that arent mainly mentioned?

Yeah sure, here you go (see below)

These files need to be placed in:

Macintosh HD > System > Library > ColorSync > Profiles.

When you have done that click on System Preferences, click on Displays then Color. You will see a list of colour profiles. Uncheck the box saying, "Show profiles for this display only", and you should see the profiles you added appear in the selection box.

You'll notice a vast improvement!

Oh remember this computer will not come with the Apple Remote control (which I think your last computer came with).

Thanks and yea I know, But I never really used it either. If I wanted it I wouldve kept it instead of selling with my last laptop, doubt that wouldve made any difference in how much I got for it

Thanks for the suggestion, Ill look into it.
My plans are to install Windows XP SP3 and then install games like GTA IV, Call of Duty and The Sims 3 when it comes out. I like 3D gaming and thats a big part of the reason why I upgraded to the new MacBook

Didnt know it was so confusing. Set up a microsoft live account on live.com
Then search for MacBook ebay, there should be a link somewhere that has an icon next to it. Click that link and it will take you to eBay. Then when your at eBay you can search for whatever you want in the eBay search bar. Only items that are bought through buy it now and paypal are eligible. It will tell you what items are eligible by having the same icon next to the name. Pay for it with buy it now and then paypal and in 60 days you will receive whatever you saved back in your PayPal account. For me when I ordered it was 13% cash back, but about 2 weeks at it was 15%. Hope ive helped atleast a little bit
 
Just tried what I said again and yes everything still works. Though the rebate is down to 11% now. You must be logged into live when searching through live to have the icon show up.

Yeah the speakers are louder/better. I actually like the screen more than my blackbook. The only time I haven't liked it is when trying to watch a movie that has a lot of dark shots. The blacks aren't as black on my UMB. Not noticeable during daily normal use for me tho.

Oh well ill get used to it. Ive been going crazy these few days waiting for Thursday. I think ive literally watched every aluminum macbook video on youtube lol.

Thanks! I don't know how I missed this earlier. I just did it and switched to the JC Display. Seems darker! I like it.

This is me too! My Powerbook G4 just crapped out, and so while it's getting repaired, I decided to order a refurbished Aluminum Macbook. It'll arrive in about 12 hours, and I can't stop scowering youtube for videos about this machine!

Did you get the 2.0 or 2.4?
Like no joke I dont think theres a video I havent watched, I cant wait for this damn thing to finally come.
 
Congrats, I'm sure you will love it. The build quality is a vast improvement over the old model. As others have said the speakers are improved and louder. Probably better than most notebooks I've used but still not overwhelmingly loud.
 
i would love an alu macbook but i only got my macbook about a year ago so there is still lots of life in it yet:D
 
Just figured out why I was having trouble with getting the 'cash back' links on my live.com searches: my ad blocker plus add-on for firefox was blocking it. :eek:

All fixed now.

I got mine less than 2 years ago, maybe a year and 9 months.
It was time to upgrade tho, that plastic build was making me sick.

if i had the cash to upgrade it i would in a heartbeat but at the moment i am saving the pennies for an imac this summer

I sold my MacBook and my PS3 and broke even with the cost of the aluminum =)
 
How much faster is the WD 320GB 7200RPM drive 16mb cache vs then one coming with the laptop?
 
I like Alu MacBook 2.4's backlit keyboard.;)

(although mine is a 2.0 without backlit kb)

hotter doesnt matter to me, im just going for speed lol

100 bucks wouldnt make my Titan much better lol, november 15th is the day Titan mods start. I get my license and plenty of birthday money to waste on it lol.
