What was your pace on your previous walks? I can't find it. In any case, that pace is nearly twice as fast as mine, I usually walk a mile in about 30-35 minutes. I also walk a little over a mile each day, so you are doing twice my distance, too!
Previous walks were 105-121bpm.

However, the previous walks were more enjoyable.

The higher paced walk today was more of a “march.” I also felt my thighs being worked more, and my temperature starting to rise.

In effect, it was more of a workout, but the better “workout” for my mind/mental health is the leisurely walk. Don’t rush it, enjoy it :).

Spot on. 👍
Go at a pace you are happy with, and that helps get to the right mental space. Over time you may find you get faster as your fitness improves, but keep at a pace that works for you.
Thanks, buddy.

Sending positive thoughts your way.

I do a faster walk every once in a while. Just to challenge myself and do a bit more exercise than walking at my own pace. I use the Nike guided run to do it -- they have these Interval runs where they tell you to alternate between various paces. I only do them when I feel physically and mentally up to it, and that way I find I enjoy them too, in a different way from a leisurely walk.

It’s good to have a change.

Speaking of which, my new strap arrived:

Nice! That color could work for me too. That's the sport loop, right? Can you let me know how long it takes to dry when it gets wet? I'm always getting my watch/band wet when washing hands or doing dishes, which is why I'm reluctant to getting that band.
I wash my hands very slowly, so I don’t get anything on my watch.

Try washing your hands slowly, and let me know if you manage to do it without wetting your watch.

Don’t forget, it’s meant to be worn above the wrist knuckle, to get the best fit for the sensors.

I agree, I think it would match your watch superbly. It felt a bit itchy at first, but it’s calming down. I prefer the braided solo loop at the moment, but hopefully the sport loop will grow on me. I love the colours.

What do you mean, above the wrist knuckle, if the wrist knuckle is what I think it is, there's no room below it to wear a watch. Below the knuckle is my hand.

And even if I'm careful to wash my hands slowly, what often happens is water drips down from my hands to my arm as I'm pulling back from the sink. The other day, I was like, yay, managed to wash hands without getting watch wet! Then it got wet as I was reaching for the towel. :(

Anyway, maybe will consider the sports loop once my current solo loop breaks. Can't always manage to switch bands on my own, so I tend to just wear one band all the time.

I suppose it depends on perspective.

When the arm is down, the watch is above the knuckle.

When washing your hands, keep your hands in a downward position when reaching for your towel.

Maybe you need to position your towel lower?

No, the SINK needs to be lower. I can't get my arms out of the sink without raising them first. I don't know how tall you are, but I'm just barely 5 feet.

Also, I paid more attention to exactly what I was doing as I washed my hands just now, and it's just very hard for me to avoid splashing water around if I want to thoroughly clean and rinse my hands. I have no doubt some people manage to do that, but I just can't figure out how to do it. Even if I go very slow, I get splashes.

Oh, and about the knuckle, whichever side we call up or down, there is only one side of it where I can wear a watch. The other side of my knuckle is just my hand, no space there for any watch.

When washing your hands, keep your elbows raised.

See if that helps.

I wash my hands differently when I’m wearing the watch. When I’m not wearing the watch, I also wash my wrists. When I’m wearing the watch, I don’t.

I tend to push myself with every walk, like I want to make it worth my time and effort :D
Here's my log from this morning (I walk daily).

The sink is higher than my elbows!

And I think our hands/wrists are configured very differently, because the only way I can keep my wrists from getting wet when washing hands is if I only wash half my hand.

Can you just accept that my body is proportioned differently from yours and what works for you to avoid getting your wrists wet doesn't work for me?

That said, it's not like I get my watch and band soaking wet when I wash my hands. It just bothers me when the band or watch is even just a bit damp.

Of course I can accept that we are different.

I was only trying to help.

I’m really sorry if I offended you.

Not offended, just felt like you weren't hearing me. And I know you were trying to help, which I do appreciate. It's ok, just part of getting to know each other, right? 😎

Hey everyone, sorry to burst your bubbles. I just wanted to give you a heads up about the Apple Watch thread. The original poster (OP) is currently dealing with some mental health issues and had a tough week. I hope he’s feeling better soon.

If you’re still following this thread, I’d like to invite you to join a new one where we can continue the conversation and help him rebuild his confidence. Here’s the link:

I’ve also been taking y’all’s suggestions and advice to help him feel better. 😊 By the way, the OP’s name has changed if you haven’t noticed.

Thanks for your support! 😊

Changed? I'm seeing "Cockney Rebel" Isn't that what it has been for the last few years? Or had he been using "cockney fella"?
This is an old thread where he was The London Fella a year or two ago. I wasn’t as active that year.

By the way, he’s still responding to my DMs. He’s still doing fine, just had a bad day, to be honest!
