I’m so proud of you, you’re doing so many positive proactive things to help yourself in the face of a system that won’t help you. Swimming sounds like a great idea; nice gentle low-impact exercise. I used to love that when I could get to a pool :)
Hello Violet.

Thank you for your continued vote of confidence.

Can you not get transport to a gym? A car on Motability?

They have devices in pools which would help you to enter and exit the pool. Please try not to let your disability hold you back, when you’re so caring and so positive.

You’re so kind :) there are medical reasons that if you don’t mind I won’t make public. And I’ll tell you today’s debacle re transport later :D Don’t worry, it’ll all come good!

Transport always such a problem! How much mobility do you have, if you don't mind sharing?
Yes exactly! Almost none in my lower limbs. I use an electric wheelchair and it’s a big one so it won’t fit in most wavs. We simply cannot afford one big enough nor am I sure how long poor mum would be able to drive one without needing adaptations herself. And since the pandemic the only taxi driver in our area with a big enough vehicle has retired. And community transport is now completely shut down too. My ageing chair I dare not use on any lengthy road journey either.

You know, one reason I wish they would get driverless car technology to work is it would solve many problems of transportation for people with mobility issues. Of course, even with that they'll probably have only one van that fits an electronic wheelchair for like a 100 users and you'll have to reserve way in advance to get to use it. :(

Agreed on both counts! I never see that mentioned in the media or tech, yet it could be life-changing for disabled people. But yes, until everyone wants one the cost will be astronomical and adaptation costs are always ridiculously exorbitant.

Not transport but related to that issue: I needed a desk I could use from my wheelchair. I looked up wheelchair desks and ones that adjust with a crank cost c500 pounds with a minimum order of 2. So I bought an electric standing desk from Amazon for under 200 - and it’s so so much better!

Hope you’re doing well @The London Fella. I use my Apple Watch in conjunction with a fitness app that provides daily challenges and once I complete them it’ll reward me with points and they can be exchanged for vouchers. I’m sure there’s a similar app in where you are living. The app I’m using is ran by our ministry.

Stay safe and enjoy the benefits of the watch!

Thank you, and good luck on your own journey.

As soon as I read the first sentence, I thought "standing desk" lol. There's so many things not particularly designed with disabled users in mind that works well, and so many things designed for disabled people that non-disabled people can also benefit from.

Yay for first walk!

Have you looked at the heart zone metrics? I'm finding it surprisingly informative, and more useful than I thought it would be.
I haven’t been able to update watchOS, as my nan doesn’t have Wi-Fi.

I don’t think it’s available with 9.0?

However, I appear to have got sleep data on my first sleep with my Apple Watch.

Hope you’re ok, buddy.

I dunno, I skipped 9.0 (long story). But doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would be added with a point update.

Open Fitness app on your iPhone, locate your workout, tap on it to see workout details, scroll down until you see Heart Rate, then tap Show More.
