so i just ordered the Red iPhone SE 2nd Gen 128GB and it should arrive in a few hours. So at first i was kinda confused whether to get a mid flagship/flagship Android or an iPhone SE 2nd Gen as my 2nd phone. But in the end i decided to just get the SE 2nd Gen as it seems more promising for me personally. And for USD$550 it sure does cost a lot considering the fact that ill be using it just for only for Instagram,Spotify,Youtube and Safari.

And im sure there are people out there who would say that an iPad is a better choice/cheaper for a 2nd device but the iPad is big...the SE 2nd Gen is only 4.7" which means its very usable with just 1 hand. And dont forget it has the same processor as the iPhone 11 Pro Max but 1GB less of RAM. But its still a fast device considering the small screen.

Well,i hope i made the right decision to move my 2nd phone to IOS. What do you guys think? :apple:

Things i like so far :
1. Small Screen(easy for 1 handed use)
2. Same as my 12 PM.
3. Has stereo speakers.
4. Touch ID.
5. Wireless Charging.

Things i dislike :
1. Battery(The battery drain is noticeable compared to my 12 PM)
2. Camera(Camera is meh,but acceptable since it only has 1)
3. No Tap to Wake option.
4. Touch ID doesnt work well when using Tempered Glass.

The SE2020 is a fantastic iPhone. I can testify to this, as after my SE2020 I tried the iPhone 12 Mini and also the Pixel 5. Funnily enough, I always went back to the SE2020 as it is absolutely sufficient for my person and also my needs. i like the classic look of the SE2020. It is super fast and the photo quality is absolutely sufficient. What more do I want?
So right decision!

What about the battery life? Be honest please

The battery is certainly not the powerhouse of the SE2020. You can watch a few videos on YouTube that demonstrate this in practice.
However, since I personally do not use my iPhone for watching videos or playing games, the battery is easily sufficient to last for 1 1/2 - 2 days. If you need the iPhone SE to play games, watch movies, etc., then it needs more frequent charging cycles.

er... i just got my phone few hours back but i gotta say it drains faster than my 12 PM. WHICH IS normal i guess since the SE 2nd Gen only has a 1821mAh battery while the 12 PM has a 3687mAh battery.

What are you hoping to use the second phone for that the first phone cannot do?
I have a 6s+ as a secondary phone. It's great for situations where my primary phone could possibly be damaged or stolen.

I got my son the SE 2020 about a month ago. He had a moment, trying to decide between red or black, but got the black. He's keeping his old SE though. Yet again, he has a newer phone than me and my wife (we got the 11 Pro Max about two months ago).

The SE is a nice phone and he's happy with both of his.

For light to moderate usage I get about 36 hours. It’s a great phone, very snappy and fast. You just have be realistic and understand that the 1800 mh battery is not designed for heavy media consumption. If one likes watching lots of u tube, Netflix, tick tock, instagram stories etc then your better off with a 6.1 size iPhone and above.

That’s a good point thanks for that! I was so used to being locked up that that didn’t cross my mind.

Erm its for my online shop too. But mostly Spotify,Youtube and Netflix.

not that my 12 PM cant do that but yeah.

I also have the SE 2020 and think it's a terrific phone. I've read many people comment on the battery but, for me, it's never been a problem. I use my phone for work (making and receiving phone calls!), browsing the web and I take lots of photos but my battery has never died on me. In fact, I often get two days out of a charge. Obviously I'm not a heavy user compared to some and I don't do any of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. I loathe (un)social media!

I have to say though, I rate the camera a bit higher than "meh". Check out some of the photos in this thread. Many are outstanding, in my view:

When I bought my first iPhone last October, it came down to the SE 2020 and the XR. I was initially leaning towards the SE 2020 (the price and the processor/SoC definitely appealed to me), but I went with the XR because I was used to a larger screen with smaller bezels.

Honestly, though, I would have been happy with the SE 202 as well. It was nice to have 2 good choices.

So you have a 6.7" OLED 12 Pro Max, but you choose to watch Youtube and Netflix on a 4.7" LCD 2020 SE instead.

I am so busy scratching my head that I won't even ask you why.
My 1st phone will always be less used. Its because its my baby. My 2nd or 3rd phone usually gets used the most.

Erm so you buy the more expensive phone, then buy another phone so you don’t have to use the more expensive one?

If you have to get a 2nd phone, then you can't go wrong with an SE 2020. The only thing that sucks is the battery life, but at the same time, it's $399. What more can you ask for?

Well said, it's a great iPhone at that price point.

The most ironic thing is that I don't want to switch back to iPhone, because YouTube Vanced won't work on it.
Also, my Motorola was $100 and I can watch YouTube on it the whole night. I fall asleep with YouTube.
I'll see what Apple will deliver the soon.

I also got the red SE 2020. I use it all day.
Even without watching videos, I'm charging it 3x a day.
I chose it for the price point & the touch ID.
The camera is decent, & I find photo editing on my SE
far easier than on my MBA.
