The SE2020 is a fantastic iPhone. I can testify to this, as after my SE2020 I tried the iPhone 12 Mini and also the Pixel 5. Funnily enough, I always went back to the SE2020 as it is absolutely sufficient for my person and also my needs. i like the classic look of the SE2020. It is super fast and the photo quality is absolutely sufficient. What more do I want?
So right decision!
Is this a newer version of the SE? I had the SE from abut 4 years ago and didn’t like it. Many of my apps were not supported.

I have the XR now and it’s a piece of crap. Had it in to the Apple store twice for several issues - they couldn’t find anything wrong so I cancelled Apple Care.

Thought about switching to Samsung but wife and I have all Apple products and I like taking pics and have them show up on my MacBook Pro.

It's similar to the iPhone 8 only with updated internals. I like mine a lot but the screen is only 4.7 if you're okay with that. I wouldn't call it an updated SE as much as I would call it an updated iPhone 8. Touch ID is there as well as the handy, clicky home button. Mine has been Rock solid and I can't think of any issues except one depending on your usage the battery might not make it through the day. I generally don't have any problem unless I get a long phone call which seems to suck battery. But the battery would be the only downside in my opinion. And the price! That's a big plus at 399. Might even be discounts by now as it's about a year old.
I'd check the reviews on YouTube and you will find they are vastly in the positive category.
