I Recived My Iphone 4 July 15 (week 28)

1 - I dont Have the Antena Issue

2- I Dont have Yellow Spot

3- No Sensor Issue

4- No Yellow Tinted Camera Issue

5- No Green Blob in the camera

I personally don't think that there have been any hardware changes to the newer phones being shipped. I got my phone on apple's first shipment (june 23rd), and only have the death grip issue. Never had yellow spots, no proximity sensor issue, and haven't seen a green blob (but have only taken photos in natural light).

i really believe this is a situation where a percentage (probably small in comparison to the millions sold) of people unfortunately received defective phones and have voiced their opinions whereas the rest, because they don't have these problems, have stayed quiet. It is like this with any product except the iPhone is such a huge deal and so widely used.

I had a week 25 phone replaced with a week 27 due to the first phone spontaneously rebooting itself during the day, when not being used.

The first phone never dropped a call at my location; neither does the second. The death grip on the first would take bars down from 5 to none. I never saw "searching for service." The second arrived the same day 4.01 was made public. It shows a stable 3 bar reception at my location. I can drop it to 1 bar with the death grip on a naked phone. However, I do keep a case on it and the bars remain at 3.

it's simply a lighting issue not the camera. don't take pics of white paper under florescent lighting and you should be fine

Someone help me understand this, because I'm not pro-photographer, but I know that colors will render differently under inside lighting than outside.

Two pics, same white envelope. I creased it slightly on purpose to give it some definition and try and replicate the blob.

I can kinda see it on the indoor shot...little bit of a yellowish hue on the right side of the pic. Same shot outside, blinding white. The shadow in the upper corner is the phone....sun was at high noon directly overhead. There's a slight blue-green color on the left side of the pic this time, which would have been the bottom of the camera lens.

So what am I looking at here? The 'blob?'

i was having a terrible experience with my launch phone and demanded a replacement to see if it would fix my issues. The main one i had was the proximity sensor. I just got a recplacement with the serial starting with 7S and I have no issues other than the green blob under certain lighting. The phone does feel different from the launch phone. I prefer the feel of my other one, however, the glass seems more recessed in this and seems like it is less fragile.

I just received my iPhone 4 from Apple directly shipped to my home from China. The first thing I did was to check 3 things:

1 - Yellow tint bottom right screen - Mine has nothing - checked also for dead pixels its perfect

2 - I put the so called death grip on my phone in 2 different locations and I
did NOT lose 1 bar. Tried several times same result

3 - Proximity Sensor - Made several calls and watched in mirror holding the phone in several different locations. The phone stayed dark. The second I take it away from my ear it lights up. Exactly like my 3GS was, there is absolutly NO problem with the sensor.

My thoughts are that Apple made adjustments on the next batch of phones to correct the production issues. Anyone else have a 2nd batch phone that is perfect?

what is your serial number?

I havent had any issues with the iPhone 4 hardware, however I think the iPhone 4 OS is still a little rough around the edges. At one time, I was in safari and i went to the home screen, and I couldn't get back into into safari no matter how many times I started it. I did have several apps running in the background. I had to reboot iPhone to get back to safari. I hope this is not a trend as iPhone OS gets more features.

A guy I work with sister-in-law got a new iPhone Friday with the 7x serial number. He claims it does not have the reception issue. I've asked him to get the serial number and explained that to know the issue would have to be reproduced with a phone having the issue in the same location. I'll post back when I have detailed information.

82027 Still Has Reception Issue

Hi All,

My 88025 phone had the reception problem even after upgrading to 4.0.1. It also had other problems, specifically:

1) Not connecting to known Wi-Fi automatically ~75%
2) Not connecting to paired Bluetooth Device ~25%
3) Spontaneous GPS Teleportation <5%

After exchanging for an 82027, I am still having reception issues, but can automatically reconnect to my Wi-Fi. I'm still testing for issues 2) and 3).

With the bumper on, SpeedTest reports an average of 1614 Kpbs down and 1213 Kbps up.
While "holding it wrong" I get only 119 Kbps down and 67 Kbps up.
The original 88025 phone was similar.

I hope those numbers help those people who are fortunate enough to have a phone that is unaffected realize that there are actually some phones with problems out there. They may be a small percentage, but they exist.

Please try to remember the phrase, "Individual results may vary" when relaying your experiences with a few phones and don't dismiss others' results just because they differ from yours.

Thanks for playing!

My iPhone has the "antenna problem" on and off. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. I've discovered mine depends on my physical location and the coverage there. Overall I'm satisfied with my phone.

It only shows up under florescent lighting. Outside and picutres taken under incandescent lighting will be normal.

WOW. A sample size of one proves its a new and fixed batch. Guess what, there was no iP4 design flaw to begin with. There is only perceptual problems with the occasional user. 0.55% iP4 owners have called Applecare. 1 in a 1000 champ.
