Hmmm. I’ve tried about a dozen times and only a “doink” sound when it attaches not when detaching. 12PM, running IOS 14.1.

Strange. Wonder if the color makes a difference. I ordered a brown one from BestBuy this morning and they just shipped it. So will confirm when I receive that one.
Can confirm that when wallet is removed (black) a "doink" sound is made.
If phone is on silent then a very light buzz is felt, it's very light and probably won't be felt.

Yep not happening with mine. Can’t imagine its a color thing but who knows maybe a bug.
What color is yours? I actually ordered a brown one but they sent me a black one. Brown replacement is unfortunately out a few weeks.

In this video reviewing the black one, it also only makes a sound when attaching and no sound when removing.
Also as an FYI. Previously someone indicated the 3rd Parties don't have the clamp that the Apple version has. Well I can report the Apple has NO Clamp. Its just the same as my third party. The big difference was the third partyies magnets are not as strong.
Apple's version has something, if not a clamp, that exerts pressure to hold 1 or 2 cards in place. So you're saying bootleg version also has this contraption?
I received Apple version it has something on the bottom that will hold just one card won’t slip out. It works very well, magnet is strong enough to hold the wallet and easy enough to take off, but you do have to be careful when putting the phone with wallet attached it will fall of if the wallet catches edge of the pants.
I spent some time looking at the Apple Wallet today to see how it secured the cards in place. There were previous posts that there was a clamp in the Apple version to was to hold a single card. This is not the case but...
So here is what I have found. There is no clamp in the Apple Wallet. However, what I did find was on the back section that serves and the shield from the magnets. There is a small raised area (noted by my crude picture) inside the card retention area. This raised area (1/32 of an inch) compresses the card or credit cards to the front of the wallets leather. The additional pressure is what secures the card in place. The third party Wallet I purchased does not have the same raised area slides in like butter. If you try and original wallet you can feel the first card bump and then slide in over the raised area. Just an FYI...

I have a black wallet with a 12 mini on 14.2.1. Mine was not making any sounds or animations with the wallet until I rebooted the phone. I now get the sound on both attaching and detaching, as well as the lock screen animation.
Maybe try a reboot?
Here is my take regarding third party MagSafe wallets. They came from AliExpressReceived them last week. Looking nice, but. BIG BUT...
Pros:
• Colours are nice. Brown and poppy California are nice to see. Now I know that I don’t need a poppy coloured case. Brown is nice, but I already have a Baltic Blue and Plum coloured case. Maybe in the future a Product Red case. But we will see.
• Stitches are mwoa. Not as good as on the real one but sufficient.
• Sides of the wallet are the same colour as the front and back. Not painted as the real wallets.
• Nice looking for the price. Also fun to put another colour on depending on your case/outfit.
Cons:
• Doesn’t keep single and double card properly. When holding upside down the cards fall out. The real wallet doesn’t do this. Because of some clamp mechanism inside. Which the fakes lack. Both with single as double cards inserted.
• The magnets are not good. The ring magnet keeps a loosely hold on to the leather case but not as tight as the real wallet. Really to loosely for my liking. Therefore sliding off and losing it is much easier.
• No small magnet on the downside which keeps the wallet properly aligned with the iPhone.
• When putting the iPhone and wallet in my trousers pockets, the wallet and card tend to fall out...
• No leather smell probably faux leather...
Conclusion: Nice looking for the price, but not usable for me. Will probably end up in the bin. Or somewhere in a closet remaining unused... Not really up to gamble that much with my ID and drivers license cards.

As expected fake stuffs from Aliexpress are pretty much trash. Why spend $20 and end up not being useful and can’t return them. I knew those Chinese makers wouldn’t even bother copying the mechanism inside, it’s something I hadn’t thought of just putting one card in but realize some people do carry one card.

I received mine last Friday. I purchased 2 of them. I was really disappointed because the magnet is not strong at all. It was described to be stronger than Apple's and it doesn't even come close to the strength. They had that video that you posted picking up the iPhone with the wallet on their website and of course, I expected it to be real and I can't even pick up the case (with no phone) with the wallet because it fells (see video below). They now deleted that video from their website. I also found a post of them on Reddit where the guy was hyping everyone claiming to hire an engineer to design the product with a stronger magnet which was all lies, when I commented on how it was all a scam he later deleted the post. I contacted them on Etsy and of course, they don't accept returns.
So my advice for other people is: DO NOT PURCHASE THIS.
