So pretty much we can just stick with 72? I already replaced the Cydia icon a long time ago, because this bug has been out for awhile(more like 2 weeks). Cydia seems to be running with no problems. Anyone know how to replace the Cydia icon in the Cydia home page though? That one still seems blurry.

I restored my i4 today cause I had facetime issues and I too got cydia 72 with the nonretina cydia icon.
No big deal.
Just upload thru ssh the retina icon on this location:
/Applications/Cydia.app and copy icon@2x.png
BTW the @2x.png icon does not even exist in the cydia directory just the default "low def" icon.png
Thats probably why some have problems with i4 winterboard themes that are trying to replace/theme an icon that doesnt even exist in the directory;)

Well i was trying to avoid to give system tool to new commers since they can mess things up real bad, but if you guys want them, here they are.

Cydia is just a front end for apt-get, if you have SSH access, you can do
Code:
apt-get update
to update the repositories.

Edit: ----- NOTE: you cannot run apt-get while Cydia is running ---------

them:
Code:
apt-get upgrade cydia

Reboot

That should bring you to the most recent version available, if after that still doesn't take yo to V73 then you need to wait for the official word from the "man" since that means that they remove v73 for some reason (but i doubt it).

Please do this with care and I take no responsibility for broken systems.

I get told "command not found" every time i try both commands. Any ideas?

i just wanted to confirm that i rejailbroke my phone because of facetime issues. i too am on -72 but running it without issues. the icon doesnt skin over like everyone said and i have no idea how to send commands to the phone to tell it to update is repositories and help with that would be great until then i guess ill sit back and wait..........

You need to add the command through Cydia. Look to see what APT packages you have.
I did that and got the commands to work but at the end it told me there was nothing to update. Dunno why Cydia won't detect that it is an outdated version.

As i said on my original post, if APT tells you that there is not update, them you need to leave it alone and not force it, that is due to Saurik himself taking off (he is the developer I am sure he got reason, maybe some HUGE bug, maybe he have been busy and haven't had a chance to update it). the bottom line is that running apt directly overpass Cydia itself so if it is not there them just wait.

howd you add it?

I already told you. Look to see what APT packages you have. Search on APT. Got it? The Apt 0.7 Strict has the apt-get command in it. There are a number of other APT packages. Install all of them, if you haven’t.

If you’re not seeing APT, it is because you are not in Developer mode in Cydia. Go to Manage>Settings and choose Developer. Then search for APT.

Question, I have the apt package installed and when i run apt-get update I get the below error. Any suggestions?

EDIT: nvm figured it out, have to log in as root.

I had to delete cydia on my iphone 4 due to some messed up repositories thank's to my girlfriend texting as I entered it >_<. I was only able to get cydia version 71 off Rock. And not shocking I didn't get update notifications to version 72 even. So I just went and downloaded the deb for 73 and tossed it into the Cydia/AutoInstall folder and rebooted then respringed and everything good as new at version 73. >_>b

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I'm running Cydia 72 at the moment and I am unable to access the "Changes" tab to do any updates. The screen just sticks on 'Loading Changes' so I will be trying the update through APT now.
