If it helps those of you looking to sell yours, within 3 hours of posting an ad on craigslist I had about 15 people contact me about it and had $540 cash in hand for it with a black smartcover and Belkin shell on the back. I have no doubt had I asked for more I could have got it.

This is in the Los Angeles area.

    Good luck folks!

    $540 isn't bad... I would've tried to squeeze $580 though. I sold my iPad 2 16GB Wi-Fi for $350 cash and haven't regretted it.

That's a good price. For Craigslist, I say:
    16gb - $400
    32gb - $450
    64gb - $500

I tried adding my Smart Cover as an incentive to sell for $500 but there were no biters so I just sold it for $450 without the SC. That Belkin shell obviously won't fit the iPad 3 so it's good that you got rid of it.

Sold my 16GB White Wi-Fi only for 450$ with a smart cover and probably could have gotten 475$ for it

    32GB wifi+3G

I just locally sold my iPad 2 with a Choiix wake up folio case for $550. That seemed to be the going rate on eBay. No regrets. Now just have to be without it for about 2-3 weeks.

480 euro. (480 dollar for you, since apple doesnt do currency convert to make extra money) for my ipad 2 64gb 3g.
Why that low is because the backside was all scratched out, some spots the paint missed, and there was a 2mm broken part.

Wow, that is definitely a good deal for you considering those are $600 as refurbs from apple.com and selling for mid-$500's on ebay.

Its a good price but people are getting more on ebay. Some peope are getting mid $600s. It comes down to how well you take care of the device, picture quality, extras and original packaging. And Knowing what people will pay. Remember too Apple charges tax.

I have to disagree. I was on there yesterday and today and I'm seeing $450-$550. No way are people buying used iPad 64gb wifi for $50 less than MSRP when the 3 is just around the corner.

Hate to brake it to you but you are wrong. Some people do but some people know how to sell there products. Most people dont even know about the ipad 3 and last time I checked Apple has not made a statement.

Not in the last week or so they're not. Maybe you're looking at the 3G versions instead of wifi, or you're not filtering out the new-in-box units. I'm talking 64GB wifi used.

Edit to add: looked at your link. 12 out of 180 listings closed above $600. 5 out of 180 closed above $645 and three of the five were over a week ago. The only sale over $700 was an anomoly due to inclusion of an ipod 64GB 4th gen model. After fees, the $650 sales put no more than $527 in the sellers pockets.

    You've not made your case.

And yes, Apple charges sales tax -- here that's $36. In exchange, you are assured of new outer shell, new battery, and a full one year Apple warranty. I'll take a $600 refurb from Apple over a $600 used CL/Ebay sale any day of the week.

In the secret land of Cupertino.
What do you guys think could get for my iPad 2 White 16GB AT&t model? It has a professionally installed screen protector, back shield clear cover, smart cover and warranty until August 30, 2012.

    I was thinking around $650.

People buy $100 Walmart gift cards for $110-120+ so nothing surprises me. Look through eBay for Walmart gift cards as completed auctions. Same goes for Amazon gift cards and many many others. eBay is world unto itself.

I think you need to work more on your dates Feb 17th, Feb 19th, Feb 18th, Feb 22nd. Is not over a week ago. lol

Maybe your tax is $36 from you but here its $45.

Earlier Feb can you read? Auction Ends Feb 17th, Feb 19th, Feb 18th, Feb 22nd.

Your right you make me look like Einstein...lol

I am not trying to start a fight, I simple stated what I sold my friends for and others are doing too. If you do not like that fact I am sorry but people have always been know to pay more an item on ebay because they get bonuses and have gift cards to use. i sell things all the time and I normally always get top dollar.

Thank you that is one hundred percent correct.

The five auctions that closed with bids of $645 or more were:
    Feb 17: $737 (but includes a 4th gen ipod 64GB)
    Feb 10: $650
    Feb 19: $650
    Feb 10: $655
    Feb 11: $645

Of these dates, only two are within the past week.

Where are your successful auctions with >$645 bids that closed on the 18th and 22nd?

Good God! I feel like I'm conversing with a child. Here is a link of one that's going to sell in 30 minutes, OK? It's at $500 with ONLY 1 bid. How hard is this to understand. They are NOT selling for $650!

Here's another for $479 with a little over an hour left. You can do this yourself you know. lol

Not trying to Troll you dude... but....
That person that won got one hell of a deal.
Black Leather cover from apple $79.00
Tan Leather cover from apple $79.00
    Poly Smart cover $39.00
    Speck Back Case $34.00
Clear Back Case (at Least) $25.00
Black back case (at Least) $25.00
    Wireless Keyboard $69.00
    Ipad Dock $29.00
Ipad Screen Protector (at Least 15.00)

    That's Almost $400.00 In extras.
Meaning the $650 price is cut to only $250.00.
After Ebay gets its almost 10% cut, The 64 GB ipad2 technically only sold for about $185.00

"Your right you make me look like Einstein...lol"

I think Einstein knew the difference between "your" and "You're"

Sold mine for $572 on February 19

For what it's worth, I sold my iPad 2, 64GB wifi-only (white) with no extras for $572 on eBay on February 19. Of course I'm getting quite a bit less than that with eBay fees, PayPal fees and additional shipping above what I charged, so say about $500. I paid $740 for it new (after 6% sales tax) last March, so I figure I'm taking a hit of $240. Over 12 months though, that's $20/month, which is what an iPad is worth to me, so I'm fine with this and will gladly pay $240 more to upgrade to a high resolution display and a faster CPU. After getting used to an iPhone 4 the iPad's display looks like a crumby Nintendo DS screen. But I digress...

If you are selling your tech, especially once it's a year old on the market, you can't expect to just lose 10% under msrp, especially on Craigslist.

eBay is a bit better because a bigger market (nationwide) bids, so you get closer to fair market value. I'd say eBay price IS in fact a perfect market value.

On Craigslist, your market is smaller (limited geographically to your town) and the audience is smaller. Also, the demographics are different. Out of the audience, most Craigslist folks are cheap, some are schemers, and many expect to negotiate down rather than bid up.

As a general rule, eBay price is the average you can hold out for. If going on Craigslist, expect to get less. Also time matters.

If you want to sell your item in a reasonable time frame, you're going to take a bath. If you try to hold out for more money, you may or may not succeed.

If you are like matbook101 trying to get more than it costs in a store new (no one cares about the accessories), you're not going to sell it at all. And even though you may see posts on Craigslist with outrageous prices, doesn't mean anyone is actually BUYING those items.

Matbook101, if you want to sell in a reasonable time frame, price it around $425 or less (maybe $375). Anything above and it may be hard to find a buyer, but it depends on your market, anomalies do happen but it's a risk.

That sounds like a pretty decent price. I sold my first generation 64GB WiFi iPad for $320. All set for iPad 3.
