I would sell my 64GB, AT&T 3G with the grandfathered unlimited data plan but I couldn't live without it until they release the ipad 3... I'll probably give it to my daughter for her 10th birthday in September.

That's a heck of a nice 10th birthday present. ;)

I guess the sweet spot is the 32GB and selling at least 3wks prior to (rumored) launch. I sold my 32GB for $550 a few weeks ago and was considering getting the biggest available storage and maybe even 3G. But in looking at people resale then it seems that, IF you plan on selling next year, the extra you pay for storage doesn't recoup easily. The OP took about a $200 loss (with tax) for 11mo use so thats a lot more than I'd be willing to pay in "iPad rental".

So Im probably going with the middle model and no 3G because I feel that LTE won't even be this years feature and I'll probably end up reselling again next Feb.

I guess for what it's worth. iPad (1st gen) 32GB 3G sold on Craiglist for $350 CASH easily. Sold in a day with about 6 legitimate buyers throughout the day. I don't mind eBay but it would have had to sell for $400 shipped before I made out the cash I got off CL.

She is my only child. She may be a bit spoiled. She already has a Nook Color, MacBook and iPhone 4 but she is a good kid.

On the price, I feel that I've got more than my money's worth for my iPad since I've had it since May 2010. It's hard to believe how long I've had it. I almost can't remember what it was like before I had it. I didn't upgrade to the iPad 2 but I will most likely grab the iPad 3.

For what it's worth, I sold my iPad 2, 64GB wifi-only (white) with no extras for $572 on eBay on February 19. Of course I'm getting quite a bit less than that with eBay fees, PayPal fees and additional shipping above what I charged, so say about $500. I paid $740 for it new (after 6% sales tax) last March, so I figure I'm taking a hit of $240. Over 12 months though, that's $20/month, which is what an iPad is worth to me, so I'm fine with this and will gladly pay $240 more to upgrade to a high resolution display and a faster CPU. After getting used to an iPhone 4 the iPad's display looks like a crumby Nintendo DS screen. But I digress...

Good comment. Yes $20.00 a month is pretty good days for tech. Any considering the price might be lowered on the IPAD 2 it makes excellent sense. I am selling my 32 GIG wifi and feel the same way about a higher res model. Sometimes it pays to upgrade once per yr approx especially on an item like this. Who knows what IPAD 4 and 5 bring. This is what I like about the IPAD and ipods that it easy to sell the old ones if you take care of them.

I sold my black 64GB 3G iPad 2 - NIB condition in original packaging - on eBay for $629 as Buy it Now in 12 Hrs after listing in mid February. The auction had ramped up to $499 before someone pulled the trigger and bought it. I think I set BIN too low. Oh, well. I am ready for the iPad 3!

For Craigslist, I say:
16gb - $400
32gb - $450
64gb - $500

Yup these are absolutely the only prices I would look for If I was to purchase a wifi only ipad 2, and -$50 after ipad 3 launch. Anything more than that gets a blind eye.

Looking at prices from eBay today, it appears the iPad 2's are taking a huge dump, at least that's the case with the 64gb wi-fi. Nothing used is selling for more than $500. One with a buy-it-now for $499 has 1 hour left and no bites. I wonder when it'll bottom out.

Yeah, that's what happens when there's a lot of supply (people putting them up for sale).

That's a good price. For Craigslist, I say:
16gb - $400
32gb - $450
64gb - $500

These are fair prices. Now would someone come up with the equivalent pricing when sold at eBay (ebay fees + paypal).

Let's say it sold for $500 plus $10 shipping. PayPal takes their 2.2% which leaves $488, eBay polishes off another 7% plus $2 insertion fee which garners a whopping net of $452! Oh my!
