the winning bid on my first gen 8gig was $1009
do you think its for real?
or is someone messing with me?

You will only know its real if you get your payment. I hope for you that you get paid, and if you do, that would be amazing! Good Luck!

thanks
i think its real
the person who won has been bidding on it since the second day
and it was up for 7 days

Damn, now I regret putting a Buy-It-Now price on mine.

Let us know if you indeed get payment!

i will
i still have to send out the invoice....
waiting till tomorow when i can confirm what the price of shipping/insurance is gonna be
im paying the shipping but making the buyer pay insurance (if they want it)

what was your buy it now price?

yea
i got their full name and address
theyre from the US (not gonna say anymore out of respect to their privacy)

they had been bidding the whole time
but the price was shot up by someone from nigeria
and she put in the winning bid higher than they did

never sell to a person in nigeria, if you didnt know

hope you get it, if only mine sold for $1000 (£500)!!!!

yea i know that
especially since itd probably cost $1000 just to ship to nigeria
plus throw in problems with customs....not worth it

This is very, very bad. I had this happen to me a few years ago. Payment was made to my PayPal account, I shipped the item, and then PayPal notified me that the paying account had been stolen/hijacked and they took the money back out of my account. There was nothing I could do. I know that a lot of Nigerians operate out of London as well. Just be very careful. They take advantage of our greed. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

lmfao, are you serious?

Of course someone is screwing with you. Anything more than $500 for a 1st gen and you instantly know it's a scam.

So they're (when you say 'they' it means the people who bought the phone) from the US.. but then the winning bidder is from nigeria?

no no no
let me rephrase
the person who won bid $1009
the second to last highest bidder was from nigeria
they bid it way up from the $425 that was about to win, all the way to $999
and then the person who had been winning won with $1009

there it is for the guy who didnt believe
lol the winner bidder has zero feedback. I would say that is also your chance of actually getting paid for this.

yea i did notice that......kinda worried me
but then again, i have 0 feedback too
could be a new account like mine

if i dont get a payment, i'll either list it again (hell, it cost me 95 cents) or send a second chance offer to one of the bidders who actually had feedback

Bidders with 0 feedback typically bid well above standard prices, and pay promptly, so as to get glowing feedback for their first transaction. Then they get back into their spaceship and fly home to the planet Zeldon and tell their fellow Zeldonites what a lovely place Earth is. Happens all the time. It's a common misconception that 0 feedback bidders are actually 13 year old punks with nothing better to do than f**k with Ebay auctions. The Zeldonites just look young.
