To everyone commenting on how much they hate Kanye:
1. He is a literal self-made billionaire (grew up poorer than most on this forum)
2. He can get all you haters talking about him by acting how we does
3. His art (music tickets as well as fashion apparel) sells out faster than Apple devices

Surely he did something right to get to where he is. Whether you like or despise his art or him is subjective, however the fact remains that he is smarter than about 99% of people.
Agreed, I like some hip-hop, not his though.

The guy has a net worth somewhere north of a billion dollars, 6.6B if you believe some sites, conservatively, 1.3B.

He has massive pull, Apple know this, I'm not surprised people can't see past their dislike of him to realize how commercially viable he is though...

I think he's a douche personally, but it is what it is, he's neither talentless nor irrelevant.

Fair points, but does it really matter? That can be said about anyone… some people dislike Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Oprah, Seinfeld, Bill Burr, Jony Ive, etc artist/comedian/entrepreneur/politic/cartel-madman. The last one with all the reasons in the world.

The fact that they excel, execute to highest standards and are more successful and focused than 99.99% of the population doesn’t mean that they get a free pass at criticism or venting.

Besides most people here aren’t really saying that they can do better than them (if they could they would have and enjoy the riches), a lot of it is Apple’s penchant to get record stuck on a single artist or style for months and months… heck I still remember the U2, Taylor Swift, DJ Khaled and now K West and Billie Eilish.

Good for Apple Music though, strike where the gathering is larger.

I loved the album I heard on the second livestream. However, Mr. West should realize that there’s a difference between perfectionism and being a soccer stadium Phantom of the Opera.

Will he actually talk to his fans this time, or even speak in general?

Used to love the 'old' Kanye, but this guy has a LOT of issues, his music has long since faded, and everyone is too scared/busy pleasing his every whim to tell him so.

So? Why? It seems as if the kids these days love to get trolled by celebrities. Whilst this "listening party" is going on, I will be jamming to some groups from my generation who released their music on time.

Why is Kanye still relevant? Why is this even a news? He's trolling, clearly.

Kanye is the KING OF TROLLING 🤡

Is he being serious this time?

He's always BEEN relevant.

He's a song writer, producer (of MANY artists, some outside of hip-hop as well), composer - all sounds you hear on his collaborations and his own albums are created by HIM. He doesn't repeat beats that are common he searches for something new and brings that into the music he creates. He's not following a-typical trends or waves.

the trolling your claiming is 'active marketing' .... drum up the hype until full album release.

I see this as no different to music videos of old mega stars, press conferences, or stunts like marriage announcement on stage in front of an audience at a concert - aka Madonna and Sean Penn. (he got the fame to help sell a movie at the time, she got $$ for her song featured in the soundtrack).

If you haven't noticed ... since the dawn of music streaming many MANY artists of all genre's new/classic no longer just release an album tour to sell it and that's it. VERY few do ... mega stars. Many artist have a multitude of collaborations (1 bar or a chorus contribution) on a song that others collaborate on. Also they have their hands in sneaker deals, fashion line, cologne, marketing agencies for their 'brand' (themselves). J Lo gets insurrance on her derrier and it's news - just after releasing a hot video (right after a big breakup with Sean 'Diddy' Combs).

It's just an evolution of being a musician/artist ... the old world is long gone and releasing songs and albums and waiting for music labels to do the heavy advertising and costs doesn't happen much anymore. Artists do it - they bill, and bank their $$$$.

I'll bet your artists didn't release their albums ... 'on-time' ... that was mostly controlled by the record label themselves.

I'd seriously rather have a root canal than go to this. Not sure why it's newsworthy either.
Well lets see…. As someone who has him blocked on Instagram but is heavy in the music community, It’s an apple exclusive thats been going on for over a month from one of the biggest artists ever, regardless of how you feel about him this is still history going on right now and the visuals alone are worth watching…. If your actual into art. But hey if this isn’t your kind of ”style”…. dont hate, you just shouldn’t be in the comment section 🤷🏾‍♂️

It’s different, courageous and something only a top top top tier icon could do, like how could you hate on that? Idk, for me i take notes because I’m actually a creative myself, most dont understand and are very ignorant.

If Apple wants to sell Apple Music subscriptions, this is the way to do it. I just hope the album actually comes out after this one LOL

Umm, don’t tell me you haven’t see Weekend at Bernie’s. If anyone knows how to party, it’s the dead.
Well, if you were to say, "The Dead", they definitely knew how to party - The Grateful Dead were like the house band for a party with 20 thousand of your friends. But that was a different lifetime.
