I always thought the VMA was a throw away award, do artists really strive to win the VMA? I forgot the show was even on last night. I must be getting old because I really don't care.
This show is based on the unexpected, I would not be surprised if they tell people to make the show "interesting". Every year it seems to be something that happens.

MTV has only been dead to you since then because it's moved on as have many of us. It's just different. Sure at one point they played music all the time but at some point people apparently stopped watching it. Instead of dying they changed. I tend to not watch MTV anymore either but it's not my taste anymore. I'm sure at some point other channels will change and I'll start watching something else. No big deal. People need to stop acting like MTV owes them something.
The VMAs are pointless yes. But so is pretty much every other award. It's just a ceremony to remember the past year. Just like the Oscars and the Grammys and all the other ones. But getting a participation trophy in little league was kinda cool for me at some point and these guys are entitled to their own awards ceremony.
The front page of CNN used to annoy me but it's really just a portal page advertising their other sections which includes entertainment.

Yes he was, although ironically, Mike Judge wouldn't be where he is today if it wasn't for MTV picking up Beavis and Butthead.
I totally agree...he's a huge loser and his ego is unreal...one of my best friends opened for Taylor Swift's tour in '08 and by all accounts she is a super sweet girl...it couldn't have happened to a nicer person...at least she won, he can't take that way but I still feel sorry for her...what a punk that guy is.

It's less painful to get all worked up over trivial stuff than deal with important issues. I'm not being judgmental. I do it too. (But this particular incident doesn't do anything for me.) Escapism. Gotta love it.
