MTV has only been dead to you since then because it's moved on as have many of us. It's just different. Sure at one point they played music all the time but at some point people apparently stopped watching it. Instead of dying they changed. I tend to not watch MTV anymore either but it's not my taste anymore. I'm sure at some point other channels will change and I'll start watching something else. No big deal. People need to stop acting like MTV owes them something.
Couldn't have been better stated.
I used to be die hard MTV (Real World, Yo MTV raps!, TRL, etc), but I have grown up, lost taste in it. It doesn't appeal to me, but I am sure it does to the younger generation. Just because I don't watch it, doesn't mean its dead.
I just ignore it all together and watch the Food Network, HGTV and Bravo
