Had to google who he is. A rapper. Not real music so not loss.
Can't tell if you're serious about any of that. If you are, you're missing out. Rap is a diverse artform responsible for fantastic contributions to music, social thought, and general culture.

I generally don't like Kanye's music though.

I care

not..

Saturday Night Life!

Also, the level of snark in these comments is hilarious. I know damn well if it was an Apple Music exclusive and Apple brought Kanye out on stage everyone would be going nuts. Don't act like Tim Cook, etc. aren't on the phone trying to get his album on their service.

And depending on what Tidal is paying for exclusivity, it may actually may be more beneficial for an artist who is millions of dollars in debt vs. Apple's pennies.

I do find it funny that he's going this route when he claims how much he loves Steve Jobs. One of his producers even stated that iTunes and physical would happen down the line.. I guess those plans have been scrapped entirely?

So, in other words, Apple Music should be devoid of any diversity or black artists? Got it!

Apple lacks black artists? So BB King, Ray Charles, Booker T, Trick Daddy, 50cent, and James Brown aren't black? I guess am color blind.
As far Kanye's debt problem. To bad so sad. No sympathy from me. Celebrities should learn to live within their means too.

This idiot gets way too much attention.

You should have seen The Verge. They wrote so many articles about him and his album in the last few days that they even created a separate section to list them all. Last time I checked there were more than 20. Annoying hype.

Also goes on sale for $0.00 on pirate websites 30 minutes after it hits Tidal. Will still wind up on iPhones worldwide until someone finally plays it and realizes how bad Kanye's music has become the last few years.
That was exactly my first thought reading this. It only points to how delusional and out of touch some of these people are. Isnt the point to get your music out to as many as possible. Isnt that how you will end up making the most money? To say it will never be on Apple........ok, but then to add, "Tidal is the only way you will hear it" What rock have you been living under the past 16 years???

Each to his own. FWIW, it sounds like a ploy to hype up sales of this individual's LP. Perhaps it's not a very good record to stand on its own.

Kanye West is a highly annoying individual; but in all seriousness we should try to be compassionate. There are so many aspects to his persona that point towards mental illness - if he wasn't a celebrity, he'd might've gotten help by now, one way or another because the people in his life wouldn't tolerate it.

Ha, probably true. And it applies to many, many other celebrities as well.

Once he realizes his album is flopping because of a lack of serious distribution, he'll be on Apple Music in no time. Especially if he's $53 million in debt. (Can I get a massive eye roll?)

I love the idea that apple is the only way to pay for music, and if your music is not for sale by apple you will not make any money. Are you guys serious right now?
Did anyone suggest either of the things you mentioned? Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Prime Music, and probably Google Play Music all have far more subscribers than Tidal- not even mentioning Apple Music.

This has nothing to do with Tidal vs. Apple Music and everything to do with a poor business decision- unless Kanye is getting handsomely paid to stay exclusive.

I personally will never buy it because I don't care for him or his music he can enjoy his enormous dept.

What do buying albums in 2016, Apple Music, and Kayne West all have in common?

...

bahahahahahahahahaha

Kanye West (a man who claims to be a businessman and entrepreneur) first announces he is $53m in the red, then decides to only offer his new highly anticipated album on Tidal where literally only tens of people will hear it, in the meantime everyone will just torrent it out of frustration. I'm no MBA, but that doesn't seem like the smartest move to me.

Are you really asserting that those people comprise all there is to offer from black artists? Not everything needs to be about drugs, disrespect to women, and how big their rear is at a club. Certainly there's something with more depth that people should maybe pay attention to.

Race card denied and shame on you for thinking that Nicki Minaj is something any young black woman should look up to instead of someone like Michelle Obama, then implying someone is racist for asking people to set a better example.

Straight up, not joking--I've genuinely thought before that the man has something wrong in his head. As in, mentally ill. Interesting to see someone share the same viewpoint.
