Long answer: I had two Keurig machines. The first one had a large water reservoir. The first couple of cups of coffee I made tasted okay. But the coffee I made the next day tasted like chemicals. It was awful. I eventually discovered that any coffee I made with water that had sat in the reservoir more than a few hours tasted like that, so I returned the machine.
Later I got another Keurig machine that didn't have a reservoir. You had to fill it with a cup of water before every use. It's less convenient, but the coffee tasted okay, not like chemicals.
The trouble was every time I made coffee using my girlfriend's Nespresso machine, it tasted a lot better. Stronger, richer. Eventually I was so dissatisfied with the weak, bland coffee from my Keurig machine that I got myself my own Nespresso machine. I stick with Nespresso capsules, but couldn't resist the new Peet's capsules and they're great, too.
Yeah bottom line for me at 5am is that I am no connoisseur at that hour, I want the caffeine rush and can have it in 20 seconds. Once I'm awake it's hard to cop that I even drank the stuff. But at that moment of popping the pod in and pushing the button, I am shameless.
I have Nespresso Vertuo A wide array of coffees. Nespresso ships the pods to you and, at least in Canada, sends you pre-paid post bags to return the pods. The pods are aluminium and recyclable.

I agree with you. For me it’s an Nespresso machine. Have one first thing in the morning, 6:30.
I use the Nespresso mornings, during the working week.
French Press weekend mornings.
Sage Barista machine when I have a bit more time. My Sage produces the best drink of the lot.

I've got the process so down, I'm pretty much on auto-pilot for the ~12 minutes it takes (~5 of that is just waiting ...).
I mean, just last weekend, I woke up in the morning in the backyard, no clothes, when I stumbled inside did I use the Keurig? Nope, stuck with the French Press and enjoyed a terrific cup of coffee while I figured out how I got these new tattoos ...
