Has anyone else noticed that the keyboard doesn't seem to be registering every keystroke? I have to go back and retype things after it stutters. I'm using an iPhone 6S

Haven’t noticed on my 7+. For me it’s only been frequent animation stutters open apps and 3D Touch, but typing seems fine for the 7+.

I did get my screen replaced, could that have caused the issue?

Possible I suppose, but doubtful. When I had my 5, keyboard typing slowed down after a few versions of iOS as well. I think iOS is getting so unoptimized (even the 8+ has animation stutters, and my 7+ stutters like crazy now) that older phones may be degrading faster because of the lower level of optimization.

i was already having this problem pre-11
the first touch on the screen often/usually doesn’t register on a google search or a text entry box

I've been seeing this on my iPhone 7 since I updated to 11.1 last week. It's driving me crazy.

My keyboard is waaaay worse than a lag,it straight up freezes every 3-5 seconds :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
[doublepost=1510271690][/doublepost]And it’s the same on my iPhone X with today’s update even

Hi Eric.

It seems that iOS 11.2 (which was just released) might have a fix for this kind of thing, for those who might have been experiencing it, as this is mentioned in the release notes:
- Addressed an issue where the keyboard could respond slowly

THank you ! Downloading now.

I tried this suggestion from Reddit user seimungbing, and my keyboard has worked smoothly with no issues for 2 weeks now:

"if you have icloud backup, go to "Apple ID" -> "iCloud" -> "Manage Storage" and delete "TextInput" (or similarly named backup). no amount of reinstall nor restore from backup will help you unless you delete that (the lag comes back after couple hours)... took me 7 restore and 1 phone replacement to figure that out... lag free for 7 days now"

https://www.reddit.com/r/ios/comments/7cuftk/keyboard_lag_since_1111/

It did reset the dictionary, but for me that was a small price to pay.
