Best news is the iphone 4 is now free.
I dropped mine a few months and the back shattered.
I'm out of contract- can't wait to switch away from ATT and go Verizon.
I use my ipad way more than the iPhone. so a 4 is more than good enough for my needs. I'll take a replacement 4 for free and much better coverage/service.

good luck

Spend $99 on the 4S. It's money well spent. You are likely going to get shorted out on a lot of future features due to lack of CPU power in the 4 going down the line. The 4S is going to keep you a lot more up to date not to mention just better to use.

It probably won't break. The biggest question is; will it blend?

Fixed that for ya.

perhaps I'll pick one up sooner rather than later .................... to sell it at twice the price :D

My buddies have said the Nexus is worse. One told me on Sunday he couldn't wait to get back on the iPhone.

In the meantime, one of my coworkers just switched from an iPhone to the S3, another from a BB, and another has had the S3 since it came out. It's funny listening to the iPhone guy complain, "this cable isn't working, it won't charge", "did you get your 64GB microSD to work?" LOL He did get the SD working...not sure why it wouldn't at first. Turns out the connector on the USB cable he had was too short?? Anyway, minor issues but it's still funny to laugh at him. I think the former BB guy is in heaven. :p
The BB guy is in heaven because any smartphone at this point is better than a BlackBerry. The S3 just isn't as fluid as the iPhone, syncing music on this thing is like pulling teeth, and text input/prediction is beyond bad.

What are you basing this statement on? Syncing music is easy. Google Play Music works much better than Music Match to sync you're entire library with iTunes. In fact it works perfectly fine with iTunes. Another alternative is iSyncr which also works great.

Text prediction on the Samsung Keyboard works fine. No input issues as you've stated. Having the option to use other keyboards such as Swift Key has better auto correct than the iPhone.

Now that we all know the specs of the iphone 5, I was curious to know how many of you are disappointed in it. To me its a huge let down. They improved upon things that needed know improvement, well except for the forward facing camera. I would have liked to see the phone a bit wider but Tim cook said it himself that its the perfect width for the average size hand. Not only that but I'm getting tired of the same design for the phone itself. They have used it for the iphone 4,4s and 5. In my opinion it would make more sense for them to call it the iphone 4gs than the iphone 5.

What are your biggest disappointments of the newest iphone?

How everyone seemingly knew exactly what was coming yet were still somehow disappointed by it.

I think most were disappointed because they knew. With the leaks a 4" display became "expected" rather than an actual upgrade.

Maybe others were hoping for more software upgrades, but they didn't really have anything new there since WWDC.

What is it that people want Apple to add? NFC might be nice, but since a lot of stores still don't accept it for payments, Apple left it out.

Personally I can't think of anything that is missing. Others might chime in with their opinions of course.

Every single rumor was true. No big surprises. Just wideband audio and an A6 processor which doesn't seem to be quad-core. No NFC.

The big features are...panorama mode. Great.

Whats it matter if its quad core? Its the first device to market with a A15 cortex Arm processor (most likely dual core)...thats huge.

I was really hoping for a different design. You'd think apple would have gotten bored with the same design for 2 iphones and refresh it, Since you know apple likes to "innovate". Which they obviously are lacking with this one. Its not that we all knew what to expect with all the leaks. its that we have the same one. we want something different or at least I do. Also idk about you but when typing the keyboard is too squished together they could have made it at least a tad bit wider, not as big as the S3, but still wider. Idk what making the iphone taller does. adding another row of icons? man Apple must have spent millions of dollars in the R&D department to come up with that. They should worry less about suing companies and worry more about making a better product because from what I see a ton of people are disappointed with apple's iphone 5

like Jony Ives said...."They started from the ground up and built the same phone with slight improvements"

Okay, after much ado, I have come to a conclusion.

iPhone, you are the Manny Pacqiao of cellular phones.

You have been judged by the "experts", and it's a split decision. The winner, and new champion of the world...

Well, it simply isn't you.

You actually have to knock everyone out right after Jony introduces you. Or during Bob's turn. Do not wait until Scott starts talking, because by then, you already might be running out of new features. And definitely don't wait for Tim to close, or it's not a win.

BUT, you still got that guaranteed $1B. So no worries.

Now you know.

iKnow iPhone.

I've been using double twist, and the Mac App freezes daily even after system reboots. Swift Key 3 causes more typos than I'd like to admit. It has a lot of perks, and hopefully Jelly Bean fixes some of these problems, it's just not as smooth sailing as the iPhone.

Doubletwist sucks. Use Google Play Music (free) or iSyncr. Keyboard is a matter of opinion but it works great for me.

ICS is smoother than iPhone 4 and 4S. I'm shocked to see how some apps or even opening up some emails lag on iOS5 and iOS6 (GM version). With JB, it works even better (depending on which ROM you use) but the Stock ROM that's on the Galaxy works great.

With Android, you have many choices on how to do things, just a matter of finding the right one.

To me, the iPhone 5 feels like a huge improvement because it has all of the features that the 4S has that aren't on the iPhone 4 (Siri, better antenna, the new iOS 6 features like turn by turn, 3D maps and panoramic photos, even faster 3G, better camera, GLONASS etc.) AND some pretty big changes on top.

I don't think enough people appreciate how awesome GLONASS is compared to regular GPS.

How everyone seemingly knew exactly what was coming yet were still somehow disappointed by it.

The question is whether we're "disappointed", not "surprised". They are two different things.

I was disappointed when the rumors came out, and I'm still disappointed now that they've been proven true. Let me know if you need further clarification.

I am super disappointed with the iPhone 5. So underwhelming, this is what the iPhone 4S should have been in my opinion. I also hate the fact that basically everything that was leaked turned out to be true. Taking away pretty much all the punch the announcement could have had.

That being said, it's going to be a great phone. No doubt. And I continue to think about buying one, hell, I might even pre-order it still. But, finally leaving Apple is weighing heavy on my head now too. The Nokia Lumia 920 is looking really good.

Ugh, decisions.

Add me to the "dissapointed" column. I bought a Galaxy S3 off contract (ouch! $$$) with the hope the the iPhone 5 would suck me back in. It didn't. I wanted it to but I'm not compelled by anything this phone offers. The skinny screen is a killer for me after the big S3 screen.

However, the new iPod touch looks like it can give me my Apple fix...without the contract! Looks kinda neat!

What is "NFC" everyone is mentioning?

As far as the i5, for me its a phone and a tool I use at work. Yeah, I'm a little underwhelmed, and I'll defiantly wait for you guys to get yours and give some reviews. Might even consider and Android, who knows.

iPhone 4 with iOS6 update soon = iPhone 5. Yeah, I am keeping my money and not buying the 5 at all.

Without Steve J's input, Apple is not magical like they were before. Sorry but the presentation was not doing it for me. Again, I love Apple but the 5 is a 4SS.

It's the thing that Android fanboys love to brag about that their phone might have that you can't use anywhere.

People who says disappoint should list what they want. It is almost like people need to buy something wow but don't know exactly what. We are supposed to buy what we need, aren't we?

That's a poor excuse. The iPhone is not a need and Apple products always "wow-ed". Apple is in trouble when they are not the highest end product. Steve Jobs was a genius, It will be long-time till someone can match him and be working for Apple.

Apple hasn't produced anything cutting edge for some time now.

I hope they have major plans next year to revamp the Macbook line, iPhone 6. I want a ipad mini by before the end of this year.
