That's a poor excuse. The iPhone is not a need and Apple products always "wow-ed". Apple is in trouble when they are not the highest end product. Steve Jobs was a genius, It will be long-time till someone can match him and be working for Apple.

Apple hasn't produced anything cutting edge for some time now.

I hope they have major plans next year to revamp the Macbook line, iPhone 6. I want a ipad mini by before the end of this year.

OK. You are disappointed because your hope is high. My hope for iPhone is low. Because I know iPhone 5 is at its peak glory and it should be something that will replace it within five years. When that new tech is ready, solid bar type phone will be obsolete. And that will be the end of iPhone.

Yes, but just wait till the iPhone 6! There won't be a phone- instead, it will teleport you so you can actually have a face-to-face conversation with the person you are calling!

On a serious note, what's 'cutting edge'? The iPad probably is the last example of Apple taking an old concept, evolving it into something useful and creating a buzz.
From the rumors, they are trying to do that with TV/video, but the content providers are fighting it.
But I STILL think the iPhone is a great product line that will have added refinements and enhancements as time goes on.

After using an S3 extensively for the past 2 months, I cannot tell you how ready I am to get back the iPhone. Maybe the experience on the Galaxy Nexus is better, but the experience with the S3 isn't all that it's made out to be. iPhone 5 seems like a solid upgrade IMO.

You create a new thread about every device you've purchased except the apparent "S3" that you've used "extensively" and want to go back? Yet if you look at your other recent posts you talk as if though an iPhone is your device. Yes your obvious defence would be you have both devices but you can stop the lying. Sorry but with these kinds of inconsistencies I don't see anyone falling for it. Just like iPhone customers are more inclined to stick with the iPhone, Android customers are more inclined to stick with Android-based phones.

I work for a UK network in upgrades and for the last few months the rooms vibe from customers has been iPhone 4S owners were waiting for the iPhone 5 announcement but after have chosen to upgrade to an Android-based phone with some considering/upgrading to a Windows Phone-based phone, and a small portion wanting to keep their iPhone 4S in exchange for a lower tariff. Those with an iPhone 4 or older want the new iPhone 5 and those who have never owned an iPhone or an ICS or Jelly Bean-based Android phone want the new iPhone - most of those are customers who are currently using a BlackBerry device. Don't take my word for it, everyone has their own agenda.

Care to elaborate?

Yeah, Apple is playing it too conservatively with the iPhone just as they did last year.

Same with the iPod Nano. They could have turned it into an iWatch but no.

I picked up an S3 to use until the iPhone 5 was available. I wanted to see what the fuss was about, and I figured the only way to truly find out was to use it as my daily driver for a little while. The keyboard selections here are terrible. The fact that you have to pay for functionality that should obviously come standard on every smartphone is a bit baffling to me. The standard GS3 built in keyboard is horrible. Text predictions are bad, and I've never made so many typos in my life. The Facebook app crashes a lot(even with updates). There's no legit replacement for iTunes(Double twist on the phone is ok, but the Mac app won't load half of the time). Cut, and paste sucks, and the overall experience just isn't the same. Overall the GS3 isn't absolutely horrible, I'll be fair in saying that much. But I feel like Samsung with touchwiz tries to replace or take away core Android functionality on the phone in place of their own solution, which I'm not a fan of.

I just realized that having a specced out geek phone is only cool for a little bit. Until you want to do everyday tasks the way you're used to doing them. I have an upgrade on my account so I'm considering selling the S3, for the iPhone 5 but I want to stay open minded until Jelly Bean gets to the s3, and then make my mind up.

JB is awesome on the s3 and that is a half baked version of JB via rooting. I am certain that JB will equal iOS in terms of smoothness. Some call me an android troll, but I will definitely say iOS is smoother by far than ICS. Once JB is out for everyone, iOS will have met its match. it will then come down to features at that point. Android is feature rich, just Laggy right now....

Oh, i didn't even know that JB wasn't on it yet. I have used some Android here and there just to find out how much I didn't like it. But I gave the Nexus 7 a shot, just to see how far they have come and I absolutely love it. If the s3 runs like that when JB is released, it might be a true ios competitor.

Yea, JB is out for the nexus devices, but not for everyone else. The s3 will run like the nexus 7 when it's officially released if done right. IF not done right, just root and flash cm10 or some variant. Rooting is much easier and more consistent than jailbreaking. No reason for people to be so afraid. I rooted my gs3 just by DLing a program and connecting my s3. After that, I DL cm10 and installed it. It's just as smooth as iOS. Scrolling is actually smoother than my 4s was too.
