Hey, I've finally gotten my hands on a version that's the same as the previous 650 on the torrent, but with better audio (no mute gaps). I've replaced the audio track in my 3ivx version with the better sound track, and the file is actually a little smaller now. Here's the torrent:

I am in the same boat. Went to show the keynote to my father and a couple of friends to help sell them on the new products and the stream is still getting hammered...not very impressive when it buffers every minute or so. If I can get it onto my harddrive as a quicktime would sure help.

Thanks in advance.

I still haven't seen any of the Keynote that can be downloaded. I did view the one from apple.com, it was of the usual high quality that I would expect from Apple.

Name that tune

A little off topic perhaps, but does anyone know the artist and/or song name for the tune that starts the "Our Wedding" iMovie in the keynote--the one with the eukalalie and the woman humming?

It played fine for me. Did you update to the lastest version of QT?

I've installed the "QTPlayer Streaming Info Plug-in" under MacOS 9 but no way to get that pannel to apper... any suggestion?

I want that 650-super-hi-quality stream :)

Anyone found the Hi-Res version yet?

Help! Come on guys has anyone got a working version of the keynote at the higher resolution that they would like to share - Please! I am keen to show this around at work and try and win some switchers, but Apple are not making it easy! Help! Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help :)

Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and now Apple

As someone who's been raised in religious circles, I've seen a lot of charismatic evangelical preaching over the years. After watching Steve's keynote, it's apparent to me that this is what Apple has become: a religion. I kept waiting for Steve to say "Hallelujah!!" and "Amen brother!". I kid you not, he's really taken a page from their books in terms of approach...

Talk of 'switching' people sounds an awful lot like 'converting'... weren't wars started over this kinda thing?

I think I'll stay agnostic when it comes to computers. There's not enough evidence to say whether one is better than the other! I enjoy both Macs and PCs, because I know how to use them (I see the ugly sides of both too, cos I have to fix them for a living). I don't see the need to keep trying to convert people to Macs when they are perfectly happy with their PCs or vice versa.

Live and let live, I say... or maybe it should be click and let click...

Sorry for the rant - I get like this at 3am...

You can't seriously compare a machine to a religion. And you also are going to have difficulity especially on this forum saying that there is not one which is better. Being agnostic is just being unwilling to take a chance and choose a side.

If anyone has a link to a downloadable quality version of the keynote, please PM me or post here. I'm trying to download the torrent, but its taking forever.

Wondering if this is your opinion because it's 3am. When you say you fix Mac's and PC's. Which do you fix more often? Which is easier to fix? Which do you enjoy fixing more?

I would probably spend about 50% of my time on each. Some days all I fix are PCs, some days just Apples. However, the Macs account for less than a third of the computers in the organisation (used by designers, with Photoshop and Quark). Now that dual 2.5ghz Powermacs are being rolled out throughout the company, we'll hopefully have fewer problems. God forbid anything goes wrong with them, cos it's nearly brain surgery to pull them apart (you have to be Apple certified).
Common problems I fix with PCs are: spyware, software corruption. Spyware is an educational issue - people being unaware that you should not click 'download' to every window that pops up on a computer. With Internet Explorer (eww!) replacements such as Firefox, spyware is HUGELY less of a problem now in the PC world. In my org though, we have to remain 'industry standard', so IE is still used... sigh.
Common problems I fix with Macs are: hardware failure, software corruption. Hardware failure is generally related to age - nothing unusual there - most of the components are the same used in PCs anyway. Software corruption - well, everything corrupts once in a while, no matter what system it's running on.
I still can't decide whether I have a preferred system, so on my desk at work I have a PC and a Mac sitting side by side. I adore OS X for its simplicity and 'play with me' appeal. Windows XP appeals for its compatibility with software, hardware and its 'no bells and whistles' approach...

Hi there! I really want to download this keynote and view it. Because I only have ISDN at home it's impossible to stream it. The solution is that a friend will download it for me.

Hoping for link.

I've been hoping for a downloadable version myself. It seems as though it takes time before one becomes available.

Thank you for your response PCMacUser. I appreciate your candor and honesty.
