There is probably a supply constraint and this move would make mass production easier. If the screen is as difficult as all the reports say.

Its is not edge to edge if there is a bezel. This is a cheat, and the overall design so far, a big let down.
I agree with you that it isn't truly "edge to edge" if there is a bezel but I am OK with that. Back when many of us thought the screen would actually wrap around the sides I kept wondering how you could put the phone in a case without covering at least part of the screen. I have always put my iPhones in a good case (usually an Otterbox) and with X likely being North of $1,000 I will definitely put it in a good case.

Nothing can beat the Midnight black on my Note8.
And no poking fun at the iphone guys,my wife is getting it on day 1.

The Blush Gold is going to sell like hotcakes. Wow...you'll have to get in within the first few seconds of the system going live on the 15th or you'll be looking at waiting for several weeks after the iPhone X launch date.

I know where I'll be on the 15th at Midnight, haha!!

Two Blush Gold iPhone X's, Two Blush Gold Apple Watch 3's, and one 4K Apple TV please!! :D

Well I quite liked the white bezels and it they actually come to pass despite what Mr Kuo says, I'll be fine with it on the silver one. But I do think the black bezels look way better on the Blush Gold iPhone. I'm more inclined to consider this color now. Black bezels do give the IPhones a more sleek, polished look. White was cute and quirky.

The black bezel was something I was REALLY hoping Apple would add to the iPhone. The white doesn't fit in with the notch as well.

It doesn't fit at all. So very good move by them. Hopefully there's also an option to keep the entire status bar black.

The white notch does not perhaps aesthetically suit the iPhone, but I wasn't opposed to it either. Some want everything looking uniform, which I can understand, but I would gladly have opted for a white notch if it had been a reality.

Still love my iPhone 4 which is used everyday as a recipe book and timer in the kitchen :) Black glass back and front, flat silver bezel, beaut little phone. Still unmarked but stuck on iOS 7.1.2. Hope the new one is as good :)

If this is true, than I have a hard time believing they wouldn't at least provide an option to make the status bar black.

"Black Front" as it looks more uniform and will hide that notch better. In black, the notch disappears into the display when switched off.

Blush Gold with black front.
Wish those were real wallpapers offered by Apple, would totally rock those! Not the flower/rainbow/butterfly bs that got leaked yesterday. Not to mention they'd also show off the darker blacks of the new OLED display. I can dream...

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has a new prediction about how Apple will design the front of the "iPhone X." Kuo believes that no matter the color of the device's casing, the front bezels will be black.,

Sweet, I am buying it. The white stuff would just be too ugly for Apple.

Was set on a black phone, but knowing there will be no white front the silver is now on my radar. I think that could be my first pick over black.
I’ll see how the actual phone looks on Wednesday (Australia) and decide then before joining the mad rush to order.

Anyone else think that having the cutout is just a way for Apple to artificially state they have a bigger screen than is actually there with respect to space that is actually available for developers to use?

Take the display of video, if Apple say the screen was 6 inches or what ever, you don't actually have 6 inches for watching video.

I can kinda see some point to it for apps where you are not using the full display that you can permanently have the time and signal displayed without taking up a top bar.

But why not just have equal slim borders top and bottom and not have the added complication for developers of a non rectangular screen.

I’ve never been a fan of the white bezel. It will be nice to have a choice of colors other than Space Gray. At the same time, I’m just going to stick it in a case and not see the back anyway, soooo....

those notches will always be blacked out by the OLED screen as well for top uniformity. This phone won't look nearly as different as people are thinking.

The iPhone 4 has been my favorite design. Felt good in the hand. Easy to hold onto. Amazing looking. The new iPhone might bump the 4 into second place. We’ll see.
