The funny thing is IPhone specs in the Android world are probably comparable with a mid range phone in the Android world.

It doesn't have the best screen
Doesn't have the best speakers
Doesn't have the best cameras
Doesn't have the best performance.
Software now is buggy.
You get low amount of storage for more than what most high end android phones get.

Basically apple last year though making a phone size bigger and making the phone thinner was innovation. They are falling so far behind in terms of technology.

Sony just released their new 4k Display phone. I give it 2 years max and every high end android phone will have 4k displays and apple will still have a generic 1080p display.

This is the thing.

It’s reliable and simply works and you can sync everything on all devices. Thats a big selling point to me. The software and lag of Samsung has come to frustrate me. It’s why i have decided to get back to the iphone.

So yes on paper are the specs on par with android? No but it is still more reliable than what you get on android phones for me as good as they are. New camera and 4K video recording is a big plus which was needed

Also one big factor here is..RESALE VALUE

they are great with iphones and terrible on android phones

Yes, but Apple need to have the 64GB model as the next step up from the 16GB model. Why? Profit! They are not stupid. A 32GB option would mean far less people opting for the more expensive 64GB option.

Apple do not exist to give you and I what we believe to be the perfect product. They exist to make money.

Having said all that, the 16GB/32GB models are useless to me and I need the 64GB model. I just wish it were a little cheaper.
The fact that they literally need to hold back technological progress back to 2012 levels when it comes to storage should really be telling people something.

It means they couldn't "innovate" their way out of a box of their lives depended on it.

Really, they couldn't make the higher end model have a better camera or something like that, instead of keeping the base model at 16GB for the FOURTH year running? Really?

Good luck trying to sell a 16GB phone a few years from now when 32K movies are all the rage. Lol

It's not about innovation, it's about making money. It's what they care about most.

Yeah but the goal is to push people to the 64GB models.

You'll never get my Mom (and other likeminded people) to cough up the extra $100. You'll just piss them off when it's time to upgrade and they don't have enough storage to do the upgrade. This is how you lose customers, IMHO...

I'm in for 64GB, maybe 128GB. (If it's got 4k, then 128GB for sure.)

Good job I will never have a 16GB phone

Even 32GB isn't enough
I would agree with you. Frankly as a software developer I have enough troubles with space on my 64GB iPhone 6 Plus. But it's ridiculous that in the year 2015 they are literally trying to sell a $600+ "premium" phone that comes gimped out-of-the-box with 16GB storage.

For a phone with a 4K 12MP camera, and a 1080P display that makes apps require big graphical assets, you would fill up 16GB in no time.

There are companies out there giving out free USB key rings for advertising with 32GB storage. Its the same NAND flash. It's literally a matter of pennies.

I totally agree. I hope this is the moment when iPhone sales really take a nosedive because people aren't willing to fall for such a blatant con job. In the year 2015 there really just isn't any reason for this asides from the greed of unimaginative corporate bafoons who couldn't think up a better way to keep profits up.

Because when apps keep growing in size and the OS keep growing in size and your camera now takes 12MP pictures and 4K video and Live Photos (or whatever) you're just going to run out of space faster and faster and faster as time goes.
