Seriously, if this happens to you every week, I would seek help. What's even more amazing is that several people agreed with you.

There was a pre-planned and rehearsed demonstration with the phone and he STILL couldn't get it to WORK!

Are you going to plan all your iPhone interactions now ahead of time so you do it right?

I have 3 different iPhones over the years, so I'm not an expert on them all, but I've never EVER gotten locked out of my phone through TouchID except once when I had greasy sausage fingers! LOL

I can't wait for the launch only because I want to see how quickly it drives some people mad.

Steve Jobs used to make fun of Bill Gates' failed demos. He FIRED people when that happened!

Enjoy. End of discussion.

Totally agree. The FaceID fail should never have happened in the keynote - they should’ve had an iPhone X ready to use that hadn’t been played with by x number of people beforehand. It’s not rocket science! You’re about to introduce a ‘revolutionary’ :)rolleyes:) new phone and show off its new unlocking/security feature and prove it’s a step up from TouchID :)rolleyes:) so when you get up there and don’t have it ready to go it is a fail. Did the iPhone itself fail? Maybe not, but dude should’ve had the phone ready to go. :p

All honesty, I was interested in getting this but if I have to wait until February or March to get the phone I only have a few more measly months until the iPhone Xs is announced. My 6s plus is still working ok (battery a little iffy) and it has a headphone jack Im not really too crazy about this as I was a month ago. Time ticks fast and X will be old fast.
There is no iPhone Xs coming. none of next years iPhones will be more advanced than the anniversary iPhone, that won’t happen until 2019. So even if you get the iPhone in feb or March you’re still g2g for another 1.5 years, trust me.

Xs will just be announced months away....Im temped to just wait it out.
Lol there is no Xs!!!! The X is a one time anniversary phone there will be an 8s that will most likely look just like the 8. Even if the do away with s variants altogether we have the iPhone 9 which I’m not sure will be as advanced as the anniversary but assuming it is we still wouldn’t get a phone more advanced than the x until the end of 2019.

I find it hard to believe that Apple would decide to launch it in 50 countries knowing their supplies were going to be that constrained. They have to be absolutely nuts to come up with such an idea. I get that this year has not been the best for them, but it's like Marketing 101.
It’s never launched in 57 countries on day 1, they won’t be this year either. Perhaps by the time it’s all said and done but if there are 3 mil devices for initial shipment USA is getting 2.5 Mil guaranteed. You all need to just chill out.

The one good thing in all this is it has allowed Apple to stockpile the Samsung displays since that will be a limiting item. Once the components are all there they should be able to make alot of these relatively quickly till they catch up with the display limit.

Looking at Apple's track record with new tech in their devices - there are often issues with gen 1.0 products (so it wouldn't be unexpected). Not to the unwashed masses who expect their iPhones to just work though. The face recognition has to be flawless or it will be a fiasco.

The truly smart decision (taking emotions and desire out) is to probably wait till next year and get v2 of the facial recognition technology (Apple always makes alot of headway with v2 of new technology).
Like I’ve said before I don’t think a V2 is coming next year, I think an 8s or a 9 is coming next year with Touch ID maybe embedded but none more advanced than the anniversary iPhone until 2019 where the iPhone may include embedded Touch ID in conjunction with face I’d and boast about stronger security.

Yes there would be a grey area, but don't forget: It's not insider trading if it isn't true. And to prove market manipulation would be very difficult. I know it's a far stretch but those guys do not report because they are so interested in Apple.
Stay in your lane when you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Using your position as a stock analyst to manipulate stock with false information IS highly illegal.

I wonder how current stock is devided between 64gb and 256gb.
I wouldn’ t put it past apple to have more 256gb stock at launch, because the people to order first will pay for the 256gb , as long as they get it fast. First to order will be the diehard fanbase.
Apple knows this.
So i wonder which one to pick at pre order, 64gb or 256gb, to get one soon.
Let alone the spacegrey or the silver.

64GB is pretty small when shooting in 4K 30fps etc.. not sure why they didn’t do 128/256 for the X given it’s high line for Apple. Here I come 256gb

Wait what?! So you are saying that Apple's own press release, which is clearly stating all the 55 launch countries, is wrong? I checked through Apple's own country specific sites and the ones mentioned in the press release all state 27.10. as preorder date (where preorders are available which is not everywhere, e.g. Greece) and all have the launch date 3.11.17.

And I do like my 7Plus 256 also so if I cannot get one I will be ok but like you I would like those features and if I do get an X they will have to come up with something that makes me trade again next fall (they usually do for me often it is the camera parts, the rest of the phones are seemingly to me reaching a plateau of features of interest -- yes they are alway faster)

I can tell you that Portrait mode on the 8 Plus is even better than the already stunning quality on the 7 Plus. I've had many people ask me what studio I went to get pictures taken! If it can fool most people it's that good. Reminds me of when video games (especially sports games in particular) started becoming photo realistic. The additional lighting options in portrait mode are all great. I was really impressed with the shots I took of some employees and customers and those were taken on the fly. I usually take my time to properly compose my shots and make sure I have the best angle and lighting.

On the other hand, like I said the 7 Plus is still good enough for another year unless having the OLED screen and wireless charging is just irresistible. I actually bought the 7 Plus because I had to take a trip to Europe for a couple of months and needed an unlocked phone with a good battery (I had a 128GB iPhone 6) and got a 128GB black one for $780 NIB. I thought I had made a mistake back in March but actually you really need at least a 7 to take advantage of iOS 11. 3D touch is now used for the control center, ARkit, the speed of the A10, the ram is the same as the 8 Plus, etc. Usually the S phones are the better purchase but the 7 was actually a bigger improvement on the 6S than the 6 was to the 5S except for the screen size.

If you want to take really good photos, you should be using a proper camera. You can get a really good camera around the $600 mark, or travel cameras around the $300 mark. You don't spend $1000 for a camera (most $100 cameras are better than that in the iPhone X).

That said, Apple hardware is pretty far behind both Android and even the discontinued Microsoft Lumia phones (2 years old). They still have a better camera than iPhone X (but you'd have to import the photos into a photo program to get all the software tweaks the iPhone X puts on the phone), they had OLED screens, IRIS scanning, QI charging, SD card expansion, removable battery and you could plug them into a screen and to get a full desktop.

Samsung had the bezel-less display with the S7 edge. I still don't understand what the issue is with the iPhone X. Most of it's new tech is 'mainstream' and the software will be exactly the same as the iPhone 5S onwards.
