Hi
Can you open a thread for this one? Very curious to see if it works like it should.
Thx!
Will do once I get it delivered!

We'll see when I get it.
Like I said, it is an inexpensive experiment - according to its technical specifications, you should be able to plug into one of the USB ports from a wall charger and charge the MB. That's why it has an LED charging indicator.
No, that's just for charging low-powered (10W) USB-A decides. I promise you won't be able to charge MadBook itself with that thing.

According to the kickstarter page description ... it does charge the laptop!
It also charges your laptop. Plug your power cord into the second USB-C port. The white USB-C to USB-C connecting cable comes with the Hub+.

Well, I've ordered this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261870590062 as an experiment.
Apparently it too has USB 3.0 support on its USB-A ports and Ethernet adapter. It also has an LED charging light on the USB-C bit. $20. If it works as intended, brilliant. If not it was an inexpensive experiment.
Using this one adapter will result in two things:
I just wonder why all these KickStarter projects seem to have to cram in everything and recreate sliced bread. Just make something simple and minimalist with great functionality instead. And it doesn't have to cost $80 either.
- Allow me to charge and maintain the exact same numbers of ports as my 11" MBA has.
- Allow me to carry around the exact same number of adapters (two) in my bag as I currently do with my 11" MBA.
I'm sorry! This totally looks like the adapter I just got from amazon (germany) It is a copy of the Apple Ethernet Adapter design and shows up as an Apple Ethernet Adapter in OS X.
But mine has no USB 3.0 Ports and no Gigabit Ethernet (Only 100MBt/s)
And my adapter has no port for charging the MacBook!
So more a cheap experiment.![]()

Hmmm...are you saying it is the exact same one, or you ordered something similar?
Someone must have cancelled their backing as I just managed to pick up the $79 early bird option
Of course if I hadn't found this thread I would have saved $79 + shipping but it's seems a good investment for me and I don't think there is any ports missing I would want.
I just backed it too. $80 is enough for me to give it a go. the USB 3.0 functionality makes it more attractive now too. Apparently they reached their stretch goal on the kickstarter, so we have an option to choose colors now?
$79 is still available w/o the adapter.
$79 with adapter is already sold out.
$86 is still available with the adapter.

yeah.. how does that work? do they give you an option before they ship?
squirrrl - It seems like they should email you asking for color options. I'm guessing they will either pre-produce a large quantity of many colors anticipating more orders in August/Sept. etc. or they will ask people their color choices before manufacturing the actual product. Either way, excited to receive my hub + in June
They say they will send out a survey before shipping.
In theory this looks like a good adapter. My main concern is that the developer has no track record. They put up screen shots supposedly showing tests, but aren't showing the product even though they say it will start shipping in a month shortly after the funding period ends.
On top of that, there's no real evidence they've ever produced a product before.
- It also still annoys me a bit that they're showing an Apple Thunderbolt Display being used with it - which simply wouldn't work.
I think it's actually an Apple Cinema Display. They posted purported test results showing the ATD not working but the ACD working.
- Well, they definitely have a Thunderbolt cable connected to it in their video:
