I like the Kadi design and how it fits right next to the laptop keyboard. I think the Hub is superior in terms of aesthetic design and functionality since it includes the battery charge as well. Hub would be slightly nicer to tote around in your pocket too. Also, since Kadi just started their kickstarter, will they have enough money to actually produce a unit? just food for thought.

My concern is the leverage which might be applied to the tiny USB-C connector causing damage to either the plug, or the computer socket. I don't see any method of mechanically attaching the rather large dock securely to the computer without stressing the plug.

Good point. I agree that the cantilever structure could for sure damage the lone USB C port in the MacBook. Wouldn't that be a shame to break your laptop right after you get it! You must be a mech eng?

Just over 6 hours to go... and I'm pulling out of this one.

Seems there are a lot of serious last minute questions being raised, with lot of backers doubting the project can be completed within the new revised time frame.

Best of luck to those who are staying on board though.

Considering they just showed a video of the new USB3 chipset working, I really don't get what the problem is. No doubt they would have met their original time estimate if they'd stuck with USB2, but the move to USB3 delayed things and added complexity.

So right now, they have a working unit. What exactly is the risk here? That it may be a few weeks late? Boo hoo.

The comments section is full of idiots getting worked up over precisely nothing. I mean asking where their offices are and using LinkedIn as a way of deciding whether the project is trustworthy? Come on, really?

People were asking for a video of a working chipset, no matter how "prototype" it was. Said video was provided. Yet now the bar of proof has shifted even higher to basically "we want the finished product before the campaign even ends". Ridiculous.

so whats going on with this, is it legit? Really want a gold version hub

So just wait until the product is ready, ships, and gets some user reviews..And buy it then. No one forces anyone to crowdfund Kickstarter projects and then agonize over their "legitimacy".
