So many comments in this thread sound like old people complaining about today’s generation. If you think kids today don’t have friends or “don’t go outside”, you don’t have kids. Western kids today are socially, economically and environmentally conscious in a way that older generations simply can’t understand. They’re smarter than you, and it scares you. If you don’t believe that, you haven‘t had enough meaningful conversations with them, you’ve simply bought into hateful propaganda. My experience with “kids today” is that they are, by and large, on a mission to fix the problems that the previous couple generations were content to pass onto them.
You mean kids today are very loud parrots?

Uhh, I've been in the US most of my life and never saw any gunmen.
The rest, yes.
Yea, I've never seen one either. That's why we're both still alive.

But I just want to educate people here, who probably have never left their USA #1 land ever, that China isn't like living in North Korea. It's actually pretty amazing there as a place to live.

That goes for nearly every generation. And in the process the younger generations will create new problems of their own their kids and grandkids will complain about. The circle of life!

Nah, I think millennials are dumber than boomers. They're the one gen that both the older and younger gens get to bash. :D

I might change my mind if they stop rebooting their crap. How many hecking Spidermen need to exist? How many times will they blow up the Death Star? I swear the entire market is people reminiscing about the 1980s. The most hilarious part is seeing malaise-era "muscle cars" go up in value.

Seriously, wtf is this comment section? You guys really would prefer the government to do your parenting for you? 🥴
Of course. That way they never have to take responsibility for how their kid comes out. But they will be quick to jump in and tell the people they secede control to how the child should be raised. They just don't want to have to do it.

You want to know what will lead to the overthrow of the Communist Party in China? Things like this. CCP wants its cake and to eat it to. China currently has this Captialist Communism which are at odds with each other. Locking up Billionaires for disagreeing with the CCP, preventing children from playing video games, and limiting people from having children are things that will continue to pile up until the people of China are fed up. You are either going to have a civil war or some kind of revolution...where the system collapses like with the USSR.

This is why China can build an entire railroad in 2 months and here in the States people want to pass legislation to recognize 86 different genders.
Because it’s all designed to keep people fighting while other stuff is going on. Greed and power and more addicting than an iPhone. It was 200 years ago and it will be 200 years from now.

This indoor gaming ban will turn future Chinese kids into healthy athletic super soldiers. Whilst our Western children will grow up to be morbidly obese diabetic Dogecoin speculators.
Don’t worry we have the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe on our side, oh, and Disney princesses too.

Yeah because if it wasn’t internment camps, video games will be what finally does the trick….. smh

Hey! Speak for yourself. Here in California, we approved a rail from San Francisco to LA for $40b and 10 years to complete. Now they're saying it's $98b and 15 years to complete.

Meanwhile, China has connected their entire country up with high speed rail in the last 15 years.

I won't refute that. But I still like our system better, even when there are disadvantages. China is following (I mean copying) us in technology, not the other way around, and I have no interest in being a slave to the state.

When terrorists attacked us, we went to war with 2 countries. One of those countries, we spent 20 years in, trillions of dollars, hundreds of thousands of lives lost, and they're worse off than before.

When terrorists attacked China, they decided to put all of their Islamic-extremist-prone population in internment camps to "re-educate them".

It seems far cheaper to do the China way to me.

By the way, no country ever sanctioned the U.S. for doing what we did to Afganistan. Meanwhile, all the west wants to sanction China.

The correct sentiment by referring to it as "spiritual opium" but I get why people hate laws like this.

Gaming companies hire scientists to write white papers on how to make their games more addicting. Many studies demonstrate how certain games can be as addictive and debilitating as some class A drugs. I wonder if the people objecting to this law as authoritarian nonsense also object to laws here in the US against drugs.

Did you know there is a new Matrix movie coming later this year in December? I think the actors will be too old. Yes, same main cast. After like 20 years.

Wait till they take over Taiwan and control all the microchip production. That’ll be FUN!

Of course the authoritarian way is often cheaper. No regard for fairness, just minimizing risk. Ethnostate gets rid of race wars too. But no diversity, and you have to hope you don't end up on the wrong side of the law one day.

Because here in California it is regulations-galore. It’s a PITA to try and get solar panels here too.

There is a branch of Economics called Neurological Economics. Pretty much this.

Hey man, I'm not saying China is the best.

All I'm doing here is bringing some objectivity to this since everything here is China bad, USA #1. Nothing is ever as black and white as the media/internet makes it out to be.

Considering all the subtleties, not the least of which is that I refuse to associate with either major US political party, I still think USA is #1 and China needs to be sanctioned. Which are separate things.

Ummmmm lots of people made lots of money during this 20 year mess we were in. Why would those people wAnna take the cheap way out? I’m sure you’ve heard the old phrase “never let a good crisis go to waste”. It can be applied to many things.
