If it were 0.2% then no one else would be dying right now. We’ve already lost 0.2% of the US population.

Currently there are 1,300 people dying every day in the US. The actual mortality rate will end up being much higher than 0.2%

Yes, all of those stage 4 cancer patients who died with Covid would have lived forever if not for the dreaded virus.

Your numbers aren’t serious.

Dying with Covid and dying of Covid are two very different things.

You post wall of text after wall of text, but you’re telling me to “go away”? That’s funny.

Yes - because you haven’t proven a single thing. I’m here posting arguments backed up with evidence. You’re here giving you opinion. Your opinion does not matter when thousands of people are dying.

So post your source and numbers. I’m not arguing with your made up BS.

Saint Fauci hasn’t “proven a single thing,” either. Take it up with him.

I’m not taking anything up with anyone other than you. Either post your numbers and authoritative sources or GTFO.

There are no “authoritative sources.” Stop worshipping incompetent bureaucrats. Almost every “expert” prediction over the past 18 months has been wrong.

But one thing is for sure: The Covid CFR is nowhere near the absurd 5% you mentioned yesterday.

There are no “authoritative sources.” Wake up. Almost every “expert” prediction over the past 18 months has been wrong.

Ok - so there is no point in having a discussion then. When you can, and are, just making crap up with no evidence to support what you’re saying… then it’s pointless to talk to you.

As I said yesterday, I can make stuff up too… but I didn’t. I used multiple data sources to back up each of my arguments. The reason you can’t do that is because you are wrong.

I haven’t made anything up. Again, you seem to be arguing with some imaginary person.

Covid isn’t killing 5% of the people it infects, no matter how many times you stomp your feet and insist you have “authoritative sources.”

Why should I believe you about anything? You won’t post a single piece of data.

I did post data that showed that some countries were seeing a 5% death rate. As you point out there can be many reasons for that. I never used 5% in any of my arguments. That same source shows the US at nearly 2%… but I didn’t even use that in my argument. I used 1% to be conservative and still showed what a large impact the vaccines can have - then I redid the calculations at an even more conservative 0.5%… and still showed that a million people in the US can be saved by the vaccines.

You simply wave your hand at everything. Again: what is the point in engaging in a discussion with someone that won’t use reality as a basis of their arguments?

A couple of interesting questions:

1. Why do you think you’re correct if there is not a single piece of information supporting your arguments?

2. What would it take to convince you? Even Trump told everyone to get the vaccine the other day - if you won’t listen to him… is there anything at all that could ever convince you?

3. If you cannot ever be convinced of anything - why are you even having a conversation?

Yet another wall of text. Unbelievable.

Yet another wall of text. Unbelievable.

The only thing “unbelievable” is that you won’t admit that I’ve proven that you are wrong about how deadly COVID is, how effective the vaccines (still) are, and how many lives would be saved if we had a vaccine mandate.

You haven’t done a single one of those things. You backtracked from 5% to 0.2% on the first one, and you couldn’t have done the second or third because even the “experts” don’t know the answers. They’re guessing.

I did not "backtrack"... I was showing that _even if_ the mortality rate were lower than the source I posted says it is... you would still be wrong. My own personal interpretation of the data is that the mortality rate is between 1%-2% for most of the developed world.

I showed multiple reliable sources that say that, at worst, the vaccines are still 86% effective at preventing hospitalization and death.

Using those two pieces of information it's easy to show that millions of lives can be saved by a vaccine mandate.

You saying "the 'experts' don't know the answers" is meaningless. Post a source. Post a number. Do literally _anything_ to support your position. Or admit that you are wrong.

Funny how you “Trust the science” people never trust the math.

There’s no way in hell that Covid is killing 2% of the people it infects.

Wow, 86%? Are you sure it’s not 87% or 85%?

Israel no longer considers anyone who is 6 months past their second jab to be vaccinated, but I’m sure you know more about this than they do.

That’s hilarious. “The government” requires your kids to spend 13 years of their most formative years in government schools.

Homeschooling is legal in all 50 US states and in many countries throughout the world. And of course there are private schools as well. There's also a huge difference between education and how kids spend their free time.

How are people supposed to homeschool when both parents are working just to pay the mortgage?

We wouldn’t need government if the average person wasn’t an irresponsible moron.

Just because many parents are morons is not an excuse for government overreach. We don't "need" the government to regulate how children are raised.

Um, did you hear me say everyone SHOULD or CAN homeschool? I'm just pointing out that many governments do NOT force kids to attend government schools. But I know tons of homeschooling families. Not all parents are in the situation you describe, and some people work from home too, you know.

Actually, we do. Children are shooting up U.S. cities from coast to coast.

Nothing I said even mildly suggested that I was unaware of homeschooling being legal.

There are no numbers to post. We don’t know, and will never know, the total number of Covid cases, since a huge percentage are completely asymptomatic. All you’re doing is guessing but pretending to be authoritative, just like Fauci and the other “experts.” After 18 months, it’s a tired act.

Raw CFR is currently 1.63% for the US. But it is a moving number, and it is generally decreasing with vaccines and better treatment. On the other hand, it is also increasing because of new and more lethal and contagious variants.

12% are officially reported with an infection, while the best estimates says 1/3 of the population has been infected. Therefore, the best estimate for CFR is 0.54%, which we can round off to 0.5%.

This is 25–50 times worse than the average flu, but it will become incrasingly smaller with time, as covid becomes endemic.

This pandemic is a 2 years event, like most others. When we are done, 800 000 Americans will have died, and the country will have used ten trillion dollars to counter the negative effects, adding to the deficit.

Without any measures, you would have saved a lot of money, but CFR would have been around 5%, or many millions dead.
