The radical right just tries to overturn legitimate elections and allow a dictator to take control of a democracy. Yeah. Sounds like they’re doing a great job at keeping things in check.

Get a grip. If Trump was anything resembling a dictator, there wouldn’t have been an election. You talk like someone who, ahem, spent way too much time playing silly video games.

Yes, I hope the Republicans in Antifa and the Republicans in BLM stop rioting and looting in our cities. Enough is enough.
Um. Do we need to bring up January 6, 2021 again? Republicans just love to forget that date. Or blame the left because lying is what they’re best at.

You do know in Silicon Valley, it's the people from China and other Asian countries running the show. They are making bank over there.

I don’t think there are a lot of really senior executives from China running Silicon Valley companies. There is not a single C-level executive from China at Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, Snap, Uber, or Netflix. Which company are you thinking of?

Ah, the “benefits” of a totalitarian government: forcing something that is good for the individual onto an entire population.

At least in the West we’re free to frak up our kids. ;)

It all sucks, folks. The entire world.

It’s a no-win scenario; either humans lean too far to the right or too far to the left.

Funny thing is that they both usually end up in the same place:

Authoritarianism.

In China everyone loves and respects the government
Because I’d they don’t they will be severely punished, but ok, go on

and they keep their culture alive
So long as that “culture” is approved by the leaders, sure. Tell that to the Tibetans. Or the Uyghurs. Or the people of Hong Kong. Or…

I’m sure they are more skilled than most people in the west that spend all day protesting
Translation from Kylo-ese: I have no idea how skilled they are and I hate freedom.

Yeah kids now days live on there phone and computer with a headset playing games 24:7 it’s not healthy and they have zero social skills
“As opposed to me who spends all day on Internet forums complaining and also have zero social skills”

I don’t mean this in anyway hateful
“But I’m now going to say some very hateful and ignorant things”

but this is the truth
“I have no idea what I’m talking about”

and kids are feeling guilty of being a certain skin colour
“Why can’t everyone ignore systematic racism and go back to letting white men get away with terrible things”

the woke pc culture is damaging kids
“Things were better when white men were allowed to dominate and have every advantage. And also be as sexist and bigoted as we wanted without having to face consequences.”

and as much as I love freedom I think sometimes things should change.
“I actually only love freedom for myself and people who agree with me. Everyone else should shut up and fall in line so I can have things my way.”

That’s funny. Antifa and BLM caused billions in damage while terrorizing dozens of communities, but the real bad guys were the unarmed buffoons who wandered around the Capitol wearing Viking helmets.

Get a grip.

I don’t agree with government overreach but to be clear, it’s only online games. I’ve never seen educational games that are FPS or MMO or Starcrafty, which I think are the real targets here.
So because you haven’t seen it it doesn’t exist? Maybe try not to use your own ignorance as an excuse to blame other things you clearly don’t understand.

On the plus side to this I may see less lag in multiplayer games because Chinese gamers will be not be playing that much 😄

Postponing the election is unconstitutional dude. Also there is this thing called vote by mail that works perfectly fine and isn’t a risk during a pandemic dude.

Unconstitutional. Hahaha. That’s a good one.

Anyone supporting this is misguided. Parents are the ones who should be monitoring this, not the Government. I get that the people of China don't really get much say in these things but its seriously odd seeing people in here saying "Our Govt should do this." No thanks, the Govt work for us, not the other way around (at least that's the way its supposed to be).
You are right in that your government should work for you, but you seem to think China’s government should work for non-Chinese societies. I would bet good money on the overwhelming support this policy has among parents in China.

I’m shocked at the comments supporting this. May your wishes come true and you get to live in a country like China. You’ll love it. I just hope you don’t drag the rest of us.
Cause the usual crowd here hates new-fangled things. And I hate video games too, but I'm not in favor of govt imposed bans. Parents' job.

I find it hilarious that the “muh freedom” crowd has come out to support this totalitarian, anti-freedom policy. Oh yeah, freedom is only for things YOU like/want.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at the hypocrisy anymore.

I think books are educational too. So is travelling the world to experience life as intended. Sports as well.
Yes and? Banning video games doesn’t make someone enjoy other things. Believe it or not people can (and do) play games AND read books AND travel AND play sports. I know I do.

What revolution when he's controlling all the military? Like Tiananmen revolution perhaps? You're kidding yourself if you think that's gonna happen.

You might not be up to date if you don't think Xi has consolidated his power almost absolutely. He will be chairman (communist party doesn't have president. Don't give him that credential) for life.
The Canadian presidents are also president for life, and Singaporeans too, did you know that? It’s the Americans that are the oddballs here

Xi has consolidated power people have given him under the premises that he performs.

China is a civilization state, it only had absolute governments, and it’s natural for them. Just like Apple can only have 1 CEO and 1 Chairman of the Board, and 1 Board. Xi is like an Emperor, except his children don’t become princes and princesses, and he doesn’t get to keep 3000+ concubines.

Emperors are the king of kings, and obviously controlled all military command powers of all kingdoms in China and subordinate to China. Even then, name name one dynasty or emperor in China that couldn’t be terminated via a revolution.

Tiananmem was not a revolution, it was a demonstration. The rise of Maoist communist China was a revolution. The French Revolution was a revolution. Same in America, name one revolution after the American Revolution? No, BLM was also a demonstration.

Why do you see Beijing panic when the job market performance indices dip, or the GDP slows down, or when the initial COVID management was disastrous? It’s because they know if they don’t perform, they will not be voted out but kicked out.

You think Beijing doing a miraculously good job of managing COVID after the the initial backlash was because it loves the people? They might, that may be a factor, but a more pragmatic reason is to cover their asses.

Let me guess: You’re a “My body, my choice!” type who supports Covid vaccine mandates?

How did I know?
