Goodness me, their promo video really failed.

Not only does he stare at the camera in a creepy way, the music doesn't do the product/app any justice. Interesting idea but I can see many problematic situations.

It's actually a really appealing video..

Funny, I thought their promo video was really good. No speech, strong impact. didn't like the music though.

Aside from all of the limitations already listed I have a concern with this app:

This app appears to capture passwords and replay them into the unlock screen to unlock the computer when you knock. You can see that when you knock the password field is filled and the computer unlocks.

Since you have to knock twice, I expected to see at least one "knock, knock" joke by now. :)

/disappointed

Me: Knock, Knock (with strong Bostonian accent)
You: Who's there?
Me: Go F yourself.

Feel better? :p

(Ala "catch me if you can" It would have been funnier without the disclaimer, but I don't want to get in trouble with a moderator.)

What terrific functionality. Predicting Apple to steal about the time AirDrop actually works.

I thought the actor was great and I can't stand hipsters or Movember.

someone has probably already pointed this out in this thread, but if you have both your phone and laptop in the same bag, you are basically handing the thief the keys to your kingdom....

I'd like this for my Mac mini at work. It never sleeps (just the display), so all I'd have to do it seems is tap on my phone.

how long does it take to sync

I installed the software on my 2012 macbook pro, downloaded the app on my iPhone 5s, turned bluetooth on both devices, and started the program and app.
The message on the mac says download the app from the app store, my iPhone 5s says it take two to tango and I need the software on the mac.

Nothing is happening after that, I have let it set for 5 minutes no change. I restarted the mac and turned off the iPhone and still nothing.

Any ideas?

Dang it I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro so it won't work....? Who wants to risk the $3.99 and try it. Haha

I think the ad would have been less cringe-worthy if they showed that you don't need to tap the front of the phone. The back works perfectly.

So now if I leave my iPhone on the table, someone can tap my phone to access my Mac. Stupid app IMO. It's not that hard to type in a password.

Most people don't have their phone and laptop in the same bag. If you do, turn off the lockscreen notification for the app and whoever steals it wouldn't even know they could double tap to unlock.

Got it and it's working nicely.
But does the app really need to have location services on all of the time? The arrow for location services hasn't turned off since I installed it.

Thanks to anyone who may have more info.

Oh puh-lease. Someone would have to know that, and really... are you leaving your phone unattended often around people you don't trust?

If anyone really is worried about "knocking" their screen (and by the way just a gentle couple of tap works) I have my iPhone on my desk right next to my iMac when working and simply knocking on the desk next to the phone will do it.

And if you are seriously paranoid, if the iPhone is any distance from the iMac (i.e. slightly further but on the same desk area), no matter how hard you whack the desk it won't unlock.

Good app - hope it gets developed further

App causes curious internet traffic

It happens about 15-20 times a day where my screen goes to screensaver/sleep while looking through papers in front of it, so it is a bit annoying having to tap a key or move the mouse to wake it up. But, it's far faster tapping the phone twice than typing the password, as I'm one of THOSE people who actually use secure passwords ;)

Secure password... well done. But did you recognize too, that this proggy causes internet traffic (you should block using e.g. LittleSnitch)?!!
Maybe, there are guys around these days, that like to have any information about you, and maybe those guys love your "secure" PW to intrude your Mac....

... and the App collects your location (as you recognized for sure...)

Hi,

I was wondering if this could also work with an external USB BT 4.0 LE -adapter, since I am not going to upgrade my hardware based on a $4.00 app :p
Any suggestions?
