Hopefully it's more like the original and not crappletized. Tried mobile Prince of Persia and it's heavily crappletized and nothing like the original.

Is it me or do the graphics for this look worse than the original style on NES? It looks like bad CGI where you clearly distinguish between the interactive elements and the background

Unfortunately, this cartoon-like graphics style seems to be the norm with so many mobile games now, including a large percentage of Apple Arcade games.

For Castlevania, I don’t think this style has the same charm as the sprite-based graphics we all knew from the NES, SNES, and PlayStation releases of Castlevania games. Konami did the very same thing with Contra as well, and just as in the case here with Castlevania, I don’t think this new cartoon graphics style works well for that game either.

Mobile gaming in general is a cesspool of quick cash-grab games, with few exceptions.

$5 is too much for the quality of the apple arcade games. Amazon has apple beat in terms of game quality for an extra $1 https://www.amazon.com/luna/landing-page?ref=MarsFS_Gaming_lunampage
I don’t know man, I spend way more than this on take out, I’m not going to worry about a dollar here and there. Plus these games are local and can play anywhere with no issues. If you have an iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, the ability to pick up where you left off on any device is really convienent. It’s one of those things where there may be better games out there, but the experience and convenience of it all goes a really long way.

I have played GeForce Now and it works stunningly well on my iPad, but that’s $10 a month (or wait an hour for a rig), then I have to buy the game, then I have to hope the connection is good enough. the games are bigger sure, but the overall experience doesn’t speak to me as much as the ease of use of Apple Arcade.

In my opinion they’re not comparable. I can play Apple Arcade games anywhere. For Luna games I need a good internet connection, as they’re played on the cloud.
I will give Apple Arcade that point, but you have to remember to have them downloaded before leaving because if you are downloading while “anywhere” then you are also using internet. I want good games for $5 though, not what they currently offer. most of the games in Apple Arcade could be had in The old days of $1-2 permanently Or f2p/p2p which if you are playing casually wouldn’t cause you to spend money like dragon ball legends etc.

I want to play this game and I would buy it but 50 a year for the service is not really a good value. For 10 dollars more I can do PS-Now and get some AAA games.

I have some skepticism on the long term support on these original studios.. i.e. Capcom Monster Hunter dropped development and couldn't be played after about iOS 8 and was purchased around £15 at the time.

At least it's on Arcade and the subs are payed anyway.
I agree, iOS is constantly being updated with no backwards compatibility.

Of course you have to download them first, but what I mean is that you don’t need to be constantly connected to internet.
Apart from that, the money value depends on every person. In my case it’s even better, as I’m paying Apple One shared with my family, Apple Music subscription is already 15€ and we also use Apple TV+, so it’s a big deal.

Yep. Apple One is the best service in the consumer tech industry today.

And that Luna service looks like it could be great. I'm not arguing that. But Apple Arcade has been more than enough gaming for me and for the cost, it's unparalleled, easy, and "just works".
