Another one, so what are you expecting Apple to introduce that would be really exciting? Have do you taken consideration maybe it’s not the products that are not exciting, maybe it’s your attitude towards these products or they just don’t appeal to you? Also, the AirPods, HomePod and Apple Watch weren’t exciting products? They just revamped the iPads including Face ID, I mean, what is it that you want them to do to make the products ‘exciting’?

I don't really use much of the stuff (watch, ipad, airpods, etc.), but phones and macbooks are of interest to me.

The current lineup of phones are too heavy and too slippery for my liking. Must use a case which further adds to weight and bulk. It looks like there will be no updates to form factor at least until 2020, so as far as phone rumors go, I'm on snooze. If I had to get a phone today, it would be the iPhone 8. That would still be ~30% weight increase over my SE. (I did buy an XR and returned it after a day of use.)

The macbooks all represent weird compromises and they are not being updated regularly. Want a 12" macbook or a nTB macbook pro? Get something with 2 year old processor technology, not to mention all the other compromises. If I had to buy one today, I would just get the nTB MBP because I don't care for the touch bar.

If I were to buy an iPad I would not get the new form factor. I actually prefer the looks and the feel of the older ones. But I'm a minimalist so I prefer to buy as few gadgets as possible, so no iPad for me.

In other words, I don't buy Apple stuff because I'm wow'ed by it. I buy it only if I have to (mac or phone breaks) because I prefer Apple's privacy and ecosystem. Otherwise, in terms of hardware, there are much better options in the windows/android world.

Should be massive upgrades each year for 1k+ phones.

That’s a ridiculous thing to say...
Do $500,000 Bentleys see “massive upgrades each year”?

Anything that steps up reception is a welcome change.

My question is: if this tech is better, cheaper, & easier to manufacture- why are they expected to switch back by early 2020, only using this for like 6-9 months? Seems fishy.

Flexible circuit boards... just add a flexible LCD (doesn’t have to fold like samsung’s) keep the current weak aluminum housing and then it’s okay to bend. :D

I hope they stiffen the chassis on the next iPads. That’s what they did going from 6/6Plus to 6s/6s plus. Pretty pathetic for brand new units to visibly bend out of the box or bending under normal use. My 10.5 iPad Pro (bought it with 512GB, already a year old and paid $500) isn’t bent in anyway. Hard to justify $1000+ on a flimsy iPad “Pro”

The whole product line up is boring. And to top if off, updates to that lineup have slowed to a trickle. So that's why it feels boring. Why would an antenna update to an otherwise boring product be of interest?

It's really hard to imagine how the iPhone could be improved at this point. Stylus/pen support, better 3D sensing for front and back, better hand off support with Macs - doesn't just open the app but opens exactly where you were on the other device complete with text/data you've inputted - this would be cool!

Backgrounding youtube or any video/audio would be nice, picture-in-picture support, multi app support for non max sized devices.

What is it you’re expecting that would be really exciting? Part of that, is that there’s only so much technology/advancements Apple is going to introduce each year, such as Face ID, the next major revision will be the ‘triple lens camera’ this fall in all likeliness. In general, I would say consumers generally don’t really see/care for all the advancements that smart phones include today. There’s a much larger demographic on a site like this that follows Apple and care about iPhone upgrades , when the general consumer really pays only attention to the marketing Apple emphasizes on billboards/TV, etc.
You got me wrong. Android and iOS are getting homogenous and there is nothing exciting anymore here. The market is saturated. Believe it or not, but I feel now that BlackBerry 10 is getting interesting for me.

In addition, the market is saturated because of inflation of the prices, not necessarily just because the features aren’t exciting. Consumers have come to the realization they don’t need to upgrade their phones on an annual basis anymore, not when they accomplish everything they need it to to begin with. And then of course factor in the battery replacement program by Apple, that also has an effect on the growth of the iPhone.

I think in general, when you see inflated prices of smart phones as they are today, that takes away *part* of the excitement, which I also think is another considerable factor.

We are not expecting killer features. People are using 4-5 apps everyday and smartphones have become that good that we really don’t need anything more. Darkmode would be great, but other than that, it’s enough.
Me personally don’t see any reason why I should upgrade my iPhone 7.

This may not be a step up more like an aesthetic. Which may also lead to a better future antennas like the iPhone 4. Sometimes all Apple needs is another courage to change. Sometimes for better or maybe sometimes laughable. :D

So, as some of us predicted, no new iPad Pros until 2020.

I'm wondering, what would a new ipad Pro need to make you upgrade??
Given their premium pricing, they need to have minimum 6 GB RAM across the board, and they should also start at 128 GB.

Mind you I probably won't buy until the next one after that, in 2022. I just bought a discounted refurb 10.5" model iPad Pro in March. By that time, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB in the base model might be more realistic too.

Will they Fix the damn Touch Issue with the 2018 Pro lineup. I have a 12.9 2018 Pro and it not responding to touch is becoming a really issue. I have 5 11" pros that are used at work and can't use screen protecters on them because of this issue. I had remove the one on my 12.9 but it's been getting worse. I have never had this problem with any device before.

18 month iPad upgrades sounds about right to me..doesn’t need upgrading every 12 months

This seems to be fixed with the beta OS on my 12.9. Before that I notice it seems to have something to do with charging - either the device itself, or the Apple Pencil.

Got to keep increasing profits somehow. If phone sales are flat, and you already increased the price, next move is to decrease production costs.

They are, the "S" models are so boring, never crossed my mind to upgrade from my X, and what's worst is that I don't think we'll see a new design, only that 3 camera crap.

This may be the first iPhone update that I may not purchase, my XS will be kept for another year.

Perhaps, include FaceID on Mac laptop?

You sound like Apple is doing the absolute maximum and nothing more can be expected.

Actually, I would say the opposite. If I buy a $1000 phone in this mature market, I shouldn't feel the need to upgrade it every year.

That I haven't felt enticed to replace my iPhone 6s is a testament to the great products Apple makes. When it eventually stops working, I will be very happy with any offerings that are incremental upgrades to the current models.

Who’s to say that’s not coming? (Rhetorical) Don’t you think that’s fairly indicative already that they’re likely working on this? I mean, they did just introduce it for the iPad, and the Mac would make the most sense for the next product. Or are you under the assumption that Apple should have introduced face ID for the Mac, iPad and iPhone on the same year? That’s not usually Apples M.O.

This is good news but they still need to step up more creative designs, the Galaxy S10 sure does have a cool camera feature with the 3 cameras. The APPLE iOS and design are getting stale very fast.
