Only 5%? Yes that’s called Price Price Price Price Price. Ridiculously over priced for what you get. I’ll grab these things for under 100 when new ones come out. Bring it on.

I have to disagree. Compared to competitor devices, they’re pretty decently priced. They are a convenience product and they do that remarkably well. Probably the best value Apple product I’ve ever bought.

With the amount of money Apple have sitting in the bank, it’s no wonder their share price is dropping when they are no longer the first to innovate -and- they fail to deliver new products on a regular basis.

These new wireless headphones and Apple’s own wireless charger were expected months ago!

Meanwhile, Belkin are releasing their second wireless charger and I’m still using Belkin’s first wireless charger which is going strong.

I keep seeing this, you know that AirPower if not that exciting? Right? It will also be a low seller for Apple...

I mean apparently they don’t innvoate but all I’m seeing is a revolutionary product on my wrist (the Apple Watch) and the whole Mobile world working hard to copy the design started by the iPhone X..

Oh.. and of course Face ID which still after over a year and a half no manufacturer has managed to successfully recreate...

But they don’t innovate

Controversial opinion:
Wired headphones are so much better.

You don'y have a mini-DAC feed by a low-bandwidth, low-energy protocol.
Also, you are limited driving the speakers with a small battery.

The 3.5" or 6,3" jack is not obsolete at all.
It's just that marketing wants to push extremely miniaturised products.

As a minor audiophile I disagree. Their sound quality for their size and convenience is fantastic. I love using them all the time. I have a set of sennheiser cans I use with my desktop but it’s clear and fine by me that with mobiles the future is all wireless.

The battery in them lasts a surprisingly long time, I’ve never felt they lacked in that department. My only comments for next gen Airpods is a colour selection and maybe a stroke to change volume feature.

Maybe AirPower’s release will coincide with the wireless charging AirPods.

I know, I know. And no butt-flying monkey jokes please.

My question is...will the only way to charge the case be wirelessly? I ask cause whose gonna travel everywhere they go with a wireless charging mat? Putting a charging adaptor & cable in your pocket is so much more convenient while on the go. If anything, I hope Apple puts usb-c in the next iPhone & Airpod case cause then you could just charge off your iPhone or new iPad Pro with a simple cable. One cable to rule them all as they say.

Only 5%? I find that difficult to believe I figured it would be at least 20%

Also guys come on of course it will be able to be charged with a wire why would you think otherwise? Does your iPhone X or XS lack a lightning port? Lol

The question is, will it be lightning or usbc

WOW, you are absolutely right. Just wait until they launch a Pink Mac Mini in 2025. THAT sir, is pure innovation at its finest. I mean, a Pink Computer? You need a lot of innovation to do this right?

I cannot agree more. The Airpod is the most convenience product paired with an iPhone. I use it on a daily basis.

Are you happy with the sound quality? I personally think that there's room for improvements.

Okay so i get it Right that i should buy the current model as a total new model will be released later 2019?

Real curious what a new design would look like. Doesn't feel like a lot of room to mess with the current model. Looking forward to something innovative. Come on Apple, blow my ear away. ;-)

Sorry mate, but the sound of these is rubbish. I had them and sold them immediately. They are okay if you like your music a bit muddled. They are somewhat better than others but they lack clarity and definition, but then again sound is subjective and depend on individual taste. In my opinion the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless, provide a better soundstage, and overall better listening experience, again, my opinion.

Plenty of room for improvement with noise cancellation modes, and just a better fit. They are convenient and really nothing much more. My opinion.

Why such an incremental update? I do love wireless charging on my iPhone Xs. What about audio quality improvements? To be fair I'm more of a over the ear full on headphones kind of guy. Even if I look like a image.png

Looks like someone jizzed in your ear or they just cut the wire to the regular ear buds.

The beats ones are consistently $90.

If these cost $100 sure they would sell like crazy.

It’s like the Apple TV. It should be $80-100 not 160 but fan boys like all of us pay the premium

So when he says new AirPods with wireless case , is that current model with a wireless case ? If a new design comes in 2020.

For what it’s worth, Kuo has become captain obvious - has his run with useful leaks in the past.
Couldy agree more, why is this guy even quoted? Well off all of the time, is that what he’s noted for?

Noise cancelling would be awesome to have. But then I am not sure how much they will charge for that. o_O

Other than the expected wireless charging, what about improvement on the sound quality? I know Apple will be charging more but wireless charging alone would not make be consider buying one.

This is a good post... I am an audiophile and after trying many different wireless models, I feel that the EarPods are a 5 on a scale of one to ten. For critical listening I use a pair of Shure SE846's with a custom ear molds, Double Helix OFC cables so I have a very very good pair of in-ear monitors. After purchasing and testing several hi-end brands, I have come to the conclusion that currently the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless in-ear monitors are the best. The EarPods are a consumer brand product and not really developed for critical listening. The one size fits all shape is evidence of this. For those who couldn't really tell the difference between 5 to 10, they are the perfect choice. My opinion.

I picked some AirPods up on the weekend as a bit of an impulse buy... felt a bit of regret before I even left the store... I own the basic wired sets (lightning), BeatsX (which I love) and Solo3... but none are convenient for use with iPad where I use it (mainly in bed) and with the new Pro not being able to take any wired headphones I felt a bit like a sucker buying them.

But after not even an hours use I was blown away. They're such an amazing product and sound much better than the standard ear pods, but not quite as good as the BeatsX, I like that they don't cancel sound as I'll mainly use these around the house late at night so it's good to be able to listen out for my kids or other noises, whereas the BeatsX pretty much blocks all outside noise.

I can see them becoming my main go to headphones.

No there will be a port but just gives people the option to charge wireless as well.

But as ear/headphones are they actually any good? I mean I get the pose and W1 factor, but are they actually good for music when compared to say Jaybird X2s (which I own and love)

Are you comparing a product that costs $400 to one that costs $160? Sorry if I looked up the wrong product.

I would love some sort of size customisation, as presently they either fit or they don't.

I absolutely LOVE my Sennheiser Momentum 2s! The sound quality is amazing, and 18 hours battery life. Best headphones I’ve ever had, and I’ve owned plenty (too many).

I bought the AirPods a few months ago. They are “ok”. Sound is fine, battery life sucks. Listen to an album, and they are already needing a charge. I use them at work. I’m there 8 hours a day. I’ve found myself not using them as much. I was really hoping for a new model this year with better battery life and better sound. I don’t care at all about color or other nonsense.
