I set up my Mailbox rules in my browser and then forget about it. I just don't need to mass delete stuff, I'm not saying there can't be improvements to Mail but it works just fine for my uses.
Every time I've used stuff with Samsung it feels half baked - I should add, I'm a huge fan of their SSD's and displays but not their phones and tablets. There's nothing more I need from my iPhone, it's perhaps the most polished, intuitive, slick piece of technology I've ever used. My only thing I would like is the option to have portrait lock not lock videos which is about the only time I use my iPhone in landscape mode - well that and the camera. Aside from that the iPhone is pretty much perfection.
With Samsung it feels so 'me too' like they just throw everything at the wall no matter if its actually good or not. They often release things half baked like the under display fingerprint reader which doesn't work with a screen protector etc. I don't know if they've improved software support - with iPhone the thing is like a Tesla, it gets better over time with years and years of updates. I keep hearing about Android devices being hung out to dry after just a few months on sale - perhaps this has improved?
I like competition and I like it when Android devices push innovation but I hands down prefer iPhone over anything else. Also perhaps this is just personal opinion but they feel better built, really solid devices, Samsung phones have always felt more flimsy, plasticy etc. The tactile feel of iPhones and Apple devices is extremely good.
Interesting quote about things "feeling half-baked". That's EXACTLY how I feel when using iOS. The Mail app is the best example, it's like they started coding the Mail app from the Mac and quit half-way through, so you have to create workarounds to how you expect things to work because of GLARING omissions.
With Samsung devices, I don't have to relearn how to use the device. With iPhone, the tutorial you get when you first activate the device is INDISPENSABLE.
As far as the "me too" thing, I see it as Sammy seeing that an idea is good, and implementing it right away. It takes Apple YEARS to do this; they just add it to the future-reasons-to-upgrade list they keep running so as to "keep them wanting more" as they say.
When it comes to construction, when was the last time you actually held a Samsung device? They've been metal and glass for years now.
The thing that Apple has over Sammy in that regard is their screen-response time. It is unmatched. Swipes and gestures are lightning quick, although Android has improved greatly in that regard. Multitouch is Apple's golden goose, and not just on iOS. They simply have the BEST implementation of it.
Right now I'm using a Note8, and got offered an iPhone XI Pro upgrade and refused it. My Note8 is better for me in every way, it even lasts all day still after 2 years.
I don't spend a lot of time taking pics or vids, and when I do they're more than serviceable. My work laptop and phone use the same cable to charge and access data (USB-C), so no need to carry extras. I use the crap out of widgets, and the notification system on android is FAR superior to the mess it is in iOS. I use split-screen multitasking daily. The device plays well with both my work PC AND my Macs. And finally, having a headphone jack is still useful, even if even Sammy is removing it from their devices.
I just don't want to give up the features I got until I have no choice (which will be next fall), and I have ZERO iPhone envy. My 4S was my last iPhone, and I have not been given a reason to go back, yet.
